The JBL Live Beam 3 is a true wireless, closed stick-style earbud built around one standout idea: a Smart Charging Case with a 1.45-inch touchscreen display, so core settings can be changed on the case itself without opening an app on your phone. Sound

The 10 mm dynamic drivers cover a specified frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz, with 16 ohm impedance and 98 dB SPL sensitivity at 1 kHz. JBL Signature Sound tuning aims for deep bass with balanced midrange and refined high frequencies at any listening level. JBL Spatial Sound widens the presentation for music and video, and Personi-Fi 3.0 in the JBL Headphones app tailors the response to your hearing profile after a short listening check. LDAC support allows higher-resolution wireless streaming from compatible sources, and equaliser presets and custom EQ are available both in the app and directly on the case display.

Smart case and noise cancelling

The 1.45-inch LED touchscreen on the case controls volume, equaliser, noise cancelling mode, playback and calls, shows messages, and can be personalised with a photo screensaver. It works with any connected source, including laptops, tablets and TVs, not only phones. True Adaptive Noise Cancelling uses four noise-sensing microphones to adapt cancelling to your surroundings in real time, and the app can compensate for your wearing position and ear canal shape. Smart Ambient lets you set how much outside sound passes through when awareness matters.

Calls, fit and durability

Six microphones with beamforming, a voice equaliser and a voice level optimiser work to keep your voice clear on calls, even in noisy surroundings. The closed stick design is supplied with four sizes of ear tips, from extra small to large, so the seal and stability can be matched to your ears. Each earbud weighs about 5 g. The IP55 rating means the earbuds resist dust ingress and water jets, covering workouts, rain and everyday splashes. A loop on the case allows a lanyard to be attached for carrying security.

Battery and connectivity

Playback runs up to 12 hours from the earbuds with noise cancelling off, or up to 10 hours with it on, with a further 36 hours held in the case for up to 48 hours in total. A 10-minute charge adds about 4 hours of playback. The case charges over USB-C and wirelessly. Bluetooth 5.3 in the earbuds supports multipoint connection, so two devices can stay paired and you can move between a laptop call and phone audio without re-pairing. The case itself uses Bluetooth 5.1 for its display connection.
