Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 Headphone (Grey)

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 Headphone (Grey) – noise-cancelling over-ears tuned for music first

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 is an over-ear wireless headphone built around a simple priority: sound quality comes first, and everything else supports it. Custom 40mm drivers, angled inside the earcups to fire sound more naturally toward the ear, give it the detailed, spacious presentation the company has refined across its loudspeakers and earlier headphones.

Finished here in grey, it is aimed at listeners who travel, commute or work in shared spaces but refuse to accept the flattened, processed sound many noise-cancelling headphones settle for. Hybrid noise cancellation, a long battery and proper physical controls make it an everyday headphone; the tuning makes it a music lover’s one.

• Quick charge: around 15 minutes adds roughly 7 hours of listening

• Wear-detection sensors pause playback when an earcup is lifted
• USB-C audio and charging, plus a 3.5mm cable for wired listening
• Memory foam earcups and a balanced clamping force for long sessions
• Companion app with EQ adjustment and noise control settings

Sound performance

The PX7 S2 sounds composed rather than hyped. Bass is full but stays textured, the midrange carries voices and instruments with unusual clarity for a wireless design, and treble detail arrives without glare. Because the drivers sit at an angle, the soundstage feels wider and less in-the-head than most closed-back rivals, which suits orchestral, jazz and live recordings particularly well.

Noise cancellation is effective against the constant drone of aircraft cabins, trains and air conditioning, and it does so without the pressure sensation or tonal shift that lesser systems introduce when cancellation is switched on.

Controls, calls and app

Physical buttons on the earcup handle volume, playback and noise modes, and they can be found by touch with gloves on — a practical advantage over swipe surfaces. Six microphones feed both the cancellation system and call pickup, keeping your voice clear in busy environments. The Bowers & Wilkins Music app adds adjustable EQ, transparency control and battery reporting.

Comfort and battery

At around 307 grams with plush memory foam cushions, the PX7 S2 is built for hours rather than minutes. Thirty hours of battery covers a working week of commutes or a long-haul return trip, and the fast-charge figure means a short top-up at the gate rescues a flat battery.

Travel and everyday practicality

The earcups fold flat and the headphone ships with a hard carry case, so it survives being dropped into a cabin bag daily. A flight adapter story is unnecessary here: the wired cable covers seat-back systems, and Bluetooth covers everything else, which keeps the travel kit down to one case and one cable.

Buy the PX7 S2 in grey if you want one wireless headphone that treats music as the main event — for frequent flyers, commuters and home listeners who value tuning and build over novelty features.
