JBL Tour One M3 Wireless Headphones with Smart Tx (Black)

The JBL Tour One M3 with Smart Tx is JBL’s flagship over-ear headphone for travellers and professionals, pairing True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 with a separate pocket-sized audio transmitter that connects the headphones to sources Bluetooth alone cannot reach. The 40 mm drivers are certified for Hi-Res Audio and cover 10 Hz to 40 kHz, and ten microphones feed both the adaptive noise cancelling and the voice system, so calls stay intelligible in airports, streets and open offices. Battery life reaches 70 hours with noise cancelling off and 40 hours with it on. The Smart Tx transmitter carries its own touchscreen display: plug it into an in-flight entertainment system, a gym screen, a tablet or a laptop by USB-C or the supplied analogue cable, and it streams that audio to the headphones, with Auracast sharing to other compatible devices.

The Smart Tx transmitter

The transmitter is what separates the M3 package from ordinary Bluetooth headphones. Many seat-back screens, older televisions and gym consoles have no Bluetooth output at all. The Smart Tx plugs into those sources over USB-C or 3.5 mm analogue, converts the audio and sends it wirelessly to the headphones. Its display mirrors key controls from the JBL Headphones app, so equaliser and noise cancelling settings can be adjusted without reaching for a phone, and its Auracast connection can broadcast the same audio to other Auracast-enabled headphones and earbuds travelling with you.

Noise cancelling and calls

True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 samples the environment and adjusts the cancellation to match, compensating for how the headphones are being worn and for changing surroundings such as cabin pressure shifts and street noise. Ten microphones give the system the information it needs, and the same array serves voice pickup. On calls, the processing isolates your speech from the noise around you, which is the difference between a usable airport call and an apologetic one. Talk time is rated at 38 hours, so the headphones outlast the longest working trips.

Sound and everyday use

JBL’s Pro Sound tuning is delivered through 40 mm drivers with 122 dB sensitivity and an 18 ohm impedance, and Spatial Sound widens film and game audio beyond the earcups. Touch controls on the earcup handle playback and calls, Smart Talk pauses the music and drops the noise cancelling when you start a conversation, and auto play and pause reacts when the headphones come off. A two-hour full charge and speed charging cover short turnarounds, and the detachable USB-C to 3.5 mm cable keeps the headphones usable in wired mode.

In black, with a leather headband and a flat-folding frame that slips into the supplied case, the Tour One M3 with Smart Tx is built for people whose listening happens on aircraft, in terminals and across long working days, and who want one headphone that connects to practically everything they meet.
