JBL Tune 520C USB-C Wired On-Ear Headphones (Black)

JBL Tune 520C USB-C Wired On-Ear Headphones (Black)

The JBL Tune 520C USB-C is a wired on-ear headphone made for the devices that no longer carry a 3.5mm socket. It plugs straight into the USB-C port of current Android phones, iPhones with USB-C, iPads, laptops and handheld gaming devices, and because the conversion happens inside the headphone’s own DSP chipset, there is no dongle to lose and no battery to charge. This is the Black version.

Two 32mm dynamic drivers deliver JBL Pure Bass Sound, with a published frequency response of 10Hz to 40kHz that reflects the headphone’s Hi-Res audio support: the built-in DSP handles digital audio at up to 96kHz and 24-bit over the USB-C connection. Driver sensitivity is 103dB at 1kHz/1mW and impedance is 32 ohms, figures that in a wired digital headphone mainly confirm it will play loud and clean from the low-power outputs of phones and tablets.

• 32mm dynamic drivers with JBL Pure Bass Sound

• Three EQ presets: Default, Bass and Vocal
• Lightweight 150g on-ear design that folds flat
• Flat, tangle-resistant 1.2m cable with reinforced connection

Controls and EQ on the cable

The in-line three-button remote covers the daily controls without reaching for the phone: volume up and down, play and pause, track changes and call answering, with the built-in microphone handling voice calls. The same remote switches between the three EQ presets. Default is the balanced all-round tuning, Bass adds low-end energy for pop and electronic music, and Vocal lifts the midrange so podcasts, online classes and dialogue stay clear. JBL also lists Voice Aware among the model’s features for more natural-sounding calls.

Comfort and carrying

At 150g with padded ear cushions and a padded headband, the Tune 520C is light enough for a commute, a full work session or a long call without the clamp fatigue of heavier over-ear designs. The earcups fold flat, so the headphone slides into a laptop sleeve, backpack pocket or desk drawer instead of taking up a bulky corner of the bag. The flat cable resists the tight knots round cables tie themselves into, and the reinforced cable entry is built to survive repeated folding and carrying.

Why wired still makes sense

A wired connection means zero latency for video, online classes and casual gaming, identical sound every time regardless of charge level, and nothing to pair when you switch between a phone and a laptop: unplug, plug in, listen. It also makes the 520C a dependable spare for a work bag, a school tablet or a shared family computer, since it is always ready and cannot be left uncharged. Note that USB-C audio support varies by device, so check your phone or tablet’s USB-C audio compatibility if it is an older model.

Choose the Tune 520C in Black if you want JBL’s bass-forward tuning and Hi-Res digital audio on USB-C devices, in a light, foldable headphone that simply works the moment it is plugged in.
