BenQ TH575I Smart Projector

BenQ TH575i Smart Projector

The BenQ TH575i is the smart version of BenQ’s TH575 home entertainment projector: the same Full HD DLP engine and 3,800 ANSI lumen lamp, with a Google TV dongle included in the box and certified Netflix, so streaming works out of the box with a proper remote-driven interface. It is built for living rooms rather than dedicated theatres — bright enough to watch with the lights on, quick to set up, and responsive enough for console gaming on a very large screen.

Google TV Built In, Not Bolted On

Many projectors claim to be smart but rely on unofficial app stores or phone mirroring for Netflix. The TH575i takes the cleaner route: a BenQ Google TV dongle sits in a dedicated internal compartment, powers from the projector and is driven by the projector’s own remote, so Netflix, YouTube and the wider Google TV catalogue behave exactly as they do on a smart television. One remote, one interface, no extra boxes on the shelf and no HDMI input given up to a streaming stick that lives permanently in the back.

Bright Enough for Real Rooms

At 3,800 ANSI lumens the TH575i does not ask for blackout curtains. Cricket in the afternoon, a film after dinner with a lamp still on, children watching cartoons in a bright family room — the picture holds up because the brightness is genuine ANSI output paired with 88% Rec.709 coverage, so colours stay recognisable rather than washing to grey. Dedicated picture modes do the tuning for you: Cinema for contrast and colour accuracy on films, Sports for natural skin tones and grass, Game for visibility in dark scenes, plus Bright, Living Room, 3D and two user memories.

Gaming on a Wall-Sized Screen

Input lag of 16.7 ms at 1080p and 60 Hz puts the TH575i in the same responsiveness class as a decent television, which is what makes big-screen console gaming feel right rather than vague. The 1.49 to 1.64 throw ratio with 1.1x zoom fills a large screen from a coffee table or rear shelf, auto vertical keystone squares the image when the projector sits at an angle, and the 10 W chamber speaker covers casual play without waking the soundbar. Lamp life stretches to 15,000 hours in LampSave mode, so heavy daily use does not turn into a lamp-replacement schedule.

Ownership Notes

The chassis is compact at 296 x 120 x 236.8 mm and light at 2.3 kg, so it moves between rooms or goes away in a cupboard between match days. Connections are deliberately simple: one external HDMI 1.4a input with HDCP 1.4, a 3.5 mm audio output for a soundbar or headphones, USB Mini B for service and RS-232 for control systems. Fan noise is 34 dB in typical use and 29 dB in Eco mode, quiet enough to sit near the seating. Full technical specifications are listed in the Additional Information table.
