The BenQ W5700 is not a living-room all-rounder and does not pretend to be. It is a lamp-based CinePrime home cinema projector built for a light-controlled room: true 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160, 1800 ANSI lumens, HDR-PRO tone mapping and colour accuracy that covers the full Rec.709 and DCI-P3 gamuts. Colour accuracy is the headline act

Brightness figures are easy to inflate; colour accuracy is not. The W5700 uses a colour filter to reach the full DCI-P3 gamut used in digital cinema mastering, alongside complete Rec.709 coverage for broadcast and streaming content. Skin tones, shadow gradation and saturated colours land where the colourist put them. Combined with BenQ’s HDR-PRO tone mapping, which adapts HDR10 content scene by scene, highlights keep their detail instead of blowing out, and dark scenes retain separation rather than collapsing into grey.

Optics that respect the installation

Digital keystone correction costs resolution, so the W5700 avoids the need for it. The 1.6x zoom covers a wide range of screen sizes from one mounting position, and lens shift moves the image up, down and sideways without moving the projector or tilting it. Ceiling-mount it behind the seating, place it on a rear shelf, or fit it into an existing mount position – the optics adapt.
