Formovie Xming Episode One Smart Projector

Formovie Xming Episode One Smart Projector

The Formovie Xming Episode One is a compact smart projector from Formovie Xming sub-brand, built around a native Full HD image and the Google TV platform. Unlike portable projectors that downscale a high-definition signal, the Episode One displays at a native 1920 x 1080 resolution, so films, series and streamed video are shown in genuine 1080p detail. Its LED light source is housed in a fully enclosed light engine, and the whole unit weighs 1.25 kg.

Brightness is rated at 150 ISO lumens with a 1500:1 contrast ratio. Those figures place the Episode One firmly in dim-room and evening viewing territory: bedrooms, hostel rooms and small apartments where the lights can be lowered and a screen size of 60 to 100 inches, within its 40 to 120-inch range, gives a far larger picture than a television of comparable cost and bulk. A Bluetooth remote and built-in streaming remove the need for external players or cables for everyday viewing.

• Low operating noise: Noise rated at 30 dB or less, suitable for quiet bedroom viewing close to the projector.

Picture quality and screen size

Native 1080p is the defining specification here. Text in menus stays clean, streamed films retain fine detail, and there is no scaling softness from a lower-resolution panel. The recommended image size of 60 to 100 inches balances brightness and sharpness for this class of LED projector, while the full 40 to 120-inch range allows smaller images in tight rooms or a larger picture for occasional group viewing in a darkened space. The 1.2:1 throw ratio keeps placement simple on a table or shelf opposite the wall or screen.

Smart platform and content

Google TV organises films and series from installed streaming services into a single home screen, with personal profiles and recommendations handled by the platform rather than by switching between separate devices. Chromecast built in means a phone or laptop can cast video and photos directly. The system hardware pairs a processor with 2 GB of memory and 16 GB of internal storage, enough for the streaming applications this type of projector is used with. Voice control through the Bluetooth remote and Google Assistant support hands-free searching where that service is used.

Setup automation and connections

The Episode One is designed to reduce manual adjustment. Auto focus keeps the image sharp after the unit is moved, omnidirectional auto keystone corrects the shape when the projector is not perfectly aligned, obstacle avoidance can resize the image around objects on the wall, and auto screen alignment fits the picture to a projection screen. Wired connections are kept simple: one HDMI 2.1 input with ARC support, one USB 2.0 port and a headphone jack for private listening or connection to external audio.

Design and daily use

At 122 x 141 x 175 mm, the upright body takes up little table space and can be repositioned in moments. Power consumption is rated at 65 W or less, and the low noise rating helps in small rooms where viewers sit near the unit. The enclosed light engine design helps keep dust away from the optical path, supporting consistent performance over time.

For a first projector or a second screen for a bedroom, the Episode One combines native Full HD, Google TV and genuinely automatic setup in a small, quiet package.
