Alto Professional TS408 Powered PA Speaker

Alto Professional TS408 Powered PA Speaker – 8 Inch 2000 W Powered Loudspeaker with Bluetooth and DSP

The Alto Professional TS408 is an 8 inch 2-way powered PA loudspeaker from the TrueSonic TS4 series, with 2000 W of Class D amplification built into the cabinet. Amplifier, crossover and drivers are matched at the factory, so the speaker needs only a source and mains power to work, whether that source is a microphone, a mixer or a phone streaming over Bluetooth.

The TS408 is the smallest model in the TS4 range, below the 10, 12 and 15 inch versions, and it is aimed at users who need to cover a real audience without moving large cabinets. Solo performers, DJs, fitness instructors, cafes, classrooms and houses of worship use this size for speech and music in small venues, with output headroom that home speakers cannot approach.

Power and coverage

Separate amplifier channels drive the woofer and high-frequency driver, crossing over at 2 kHz, and the horn provides 90 degree horizontal by 60 degree vertical coverage for even audience coverage. Frequency response runs from 62 Hz to 20 kHz, with usable output to 52 Hz, which covers vocals, acoustic instruments and programme music convincingly for its size; a subwoofer can be added for bass-heavy DJ work, with sub size controls on the speaker to integrate it.

Mixer, streaming and app control

A combo XLR and jack input with mic and line switching and independent level controls form the wired channels, and the Bluetooth channel adds wireless playback, so a microphone and music can run together with no external mixer. The free Alto app for iOS and Android adjusts volume, speaker use modes, subwoofer settings and custom EQ remotely, and two TS408 speakers can link in True Wireless Stereo for cable-free stereo coverage.

Handling and mounting

At 9.4 kg with an injection-moulded enclosure, the TS408 is a one-person lift. A standard 36 mm pole socket, a wedge profile for floor monitoring and integral M6 suspension points for flown installation cover most small-venue arrangements, and fanless cooling keeps the speaker silent between announcements or during quiet spoken passages.

Connections and protection in detail

An XLR mix output sends the combined signal onward to a second speaker or a subwoofer, and a USB charging port provides 5 V power for a phone or tablet during an event. Electronic clip, thermal and transducer overdrive protection guard the amplifiers and drivers when the speaker is pushed hard, and signal and limit indicators on the panel show when the output is approaching its ceiling. Speaker Use and Sub Size controls adapt the internal processing to stand, monitor or subwoofer-assisted setups without menu diving.

Choose the TS408 if you need a self-contained PA speaker for small gigs, presentations, classes or events and want mixer, Bluetooth and DSP included rather than bought separately. It is the practical entry point to the TS4 range when portability matters as much as output.
