The Alto TS315 is a 15-inch two-way powered loudspeaker from Alto Professional’s TRUESONIC TS3 series, built to be the complete PA for small and mid-sized events: amplifier, mixer and cabinet in one 18.8 kg enclosure. Its bi-amplified Class D system is rated at 2000 W peak, split 1300 W to the low-frequency section and 700 W to the high-frequency section, with 1000 W continuous output, 650 W low plus 350 W high, behind it. A 15-inch woofer with a 3-inch high-temperature voice coil and a 1.4-inch neodymium high-frequency driver on a precision waveguide deliver a maximum of 134 dB peak SPL with 90 by 60 degree coverage. A two-channel mixer with combo inputs, a contour EQ switch and an XLR link output are built in, so a microphone and a music source can run a show with no external desk at all. Note that this is the TS3 generation: dependable wired performance, without the Bluetooth and app control of the later TS4 range.

Power and headroom, both figures stated

Alto publishes two power figures for the TS315 and both are given here, because they describe different things. The 2000 W peak rating is the short-term ceiling the amplifier stages can deliver on transients; the 1000 W continuous rating, 650 W to the woofer and 350 W to the high-frequency driver, describes sustained output. In practice that translates to a maximum SPL of 134 dB peak and 131 dB continuous at one metre, enough for live bands, DJs and speech in venues and outdoor spaces of moderate size, with the amplifiers passively cooled and fanless, which keeps the cabinet quiet during speeches and ceremonies and removes a common failure point. Electronic clip, thermal and transducer overdrive protection guard the system when it is pushed.

Coverage and sound shaping

The waveguide gives a nominal 90 degree horizontal by 60 degree vertical dispersion, a pattern that covers a wide audience area from a single cabinet per side while limiting spill onto ceilings and floors. Frequency response runs from 50 Hz to 20 kHz within plus minus 3 dB, extending to 43 Hz at the minus 10 dB point, so the 15-inch woofer provides real low-frequency weight for music playback without a subwoofer at smaller events. The crossover sits at 2 kHz. A contour switch applies a low and high frequency boost of 3 dB for a quick livelier balance at low listening levels or for playback duty, and can be switched out for a flatter response when the speaker works as a stage monitor or with an external mixer and processing.

Connections and the built-in mixer

Two input channels each accept XLR or 6.35 mm TRS combo connections at mic or line level, with independent volume controls, so a vocal microphone on one channel and a phone, laptop or mixer feed on the other is a complete small-event setup. An XLR link output passes the mixed signal on to a second powered speaker or a subwoofer, making systems easy to expand. A ground-lift switch addresses hum from problem power supplies, power and clip LEDs are visible from front and rear, and mains connection is a standard IEC input with fuse, accepting 220 to 240 V in India. There is no Bluetooth on this TS3 model, sources connect by cable, which many installers and hire companies count as a reliability feature.

Mounting and applications

The trapezoidal injection-moulded polypropylene enclosure, 652 x 421 x 392 mm, works in every position a working PA needs: upright on a standard 36 mm pole socket, flown from integral M10 suspension points, fixed with the optional TSB125 wall or ceiling bracket, or laid on its side as a wedge floor monitor for performers. At 18.8 kg it remains a one-person lift. Typical duties cover live music, DJ playback, houses of worship, school and community halls, fitness classes and corporate events, roles where a single powered cabinet per side, set up in minutes and loud enough to matter, is exactly the tool required. As a discontinued TS3 generation model it also represents strong value against current ranges with equivalent output.
