Bose Omnijewel Center Wall Mount

Bose Omnijewel Center Wall Mount

The Bose OmniJewel Center Wall Mount is the purpose-built bracket for the centre-channel speaker of the Bose Lifestyle 650 home entertainment system. The OmniJewel centre speaker is a specific, compact horizontal design, and this bracket is made for exactly that speaker: it holds the centre channel on the wall, in its horizontal orientation, directly above or below the television, which is where centre-channel dialogue belongs. The listing states a steel bracket, two mounting points spaced 4.25 inches apart, and a package that includes the necessary mounting hardware and installation instructions.

Made for the OmniJewel centre channel

Accessory brackets work best when they are designed for one product rather than adapted to many. The OmniJewel centre speaker is a small, precisely finished component of the Lifestyle 650 system, and a generic shelf or universal mount holds it approximately, at best. This bracket matches the centre speaker it was designed alongside, so the speaker sits as intended and the finish of the installation matches the finish of the system. If you own a Lifestyle 650 and want its centre channel wall-mounted, this is the fitting Bose made for that job; it is not a mount for the system’s satellite speakers, which use their own brackets, and it does not suit other Bose ranges.

Why wall-mount the centre speaker

The centre channel carries dialogue, and dialogue reads clearly when the speaker is close to the screen and aimed at the listening position. In many rooms the centre speaker otherwise ends up wherever furniture allows: pushed back on a deep cabinet, partially blocked by the television’s stand, or angled up from a low shelf. Wall-mounting it directly under or over the display fixes its position at the picture, frees the cabinet surface, and keeps it clear of obstruction. It also suits rooms where there is no suitable cabinet at all, such as installations with a wall-mounted television and minimal furniture beneath it.

Installation basics

The bracket fixes to the wall at two mounting points spaced 4.25 inches apart, and the required hardware and instructions are included in the package. As with any wall fixing, the holding strength depends on the wall: fixings into a stud, masonry or the correct anchors for plasterboard make the difference between a bracket that is attached and one that is secure, so follow the supplied instructions for your wall type and confirm the bracket is level before the speaker goes on. Position the bracket so the mounted speaker sits centred on the television, and route the speaker cable with the installation in mind, since a wall-mounted centre channel looks best when the cable run is planned rather than improvised.

A clean finish for a Lifestyle 650 room

The Lifestyle 650 is chosen partly for how little visual clutter it creates, and its small OmniJewel speakers are designed to be heard more than noticed. A centre speaker floating on the wall beneath the screen continues that idea: no shelf, no stand, no cabinet space surrendered. Once installed, the arrangement needs nothing further; there are no adjustments to maintain, and the speaker stays exactly where it was placed. For Lifestyle 650 owners completing a wall-mounted television installation, the Bose OmniJewel Center Wall Mount is the correct, factory-made way to put the centre channel in its proper place.

It is a single-purpose part with a single purpose done properly: the OmniJewel centre speaker, on the wall, at the centre of the picture, for the life of the system.
