Heco INC 262 Stereo In-Ceiling Speaker is a stereo in-ceiling speaker that plays both channels from one cut-out, with a 160 mm driver and twin tweeters.
Heco INC 262 Stereo In-Ceiling Speaker is a stereo in-ceiling speaker that plays both left and right channels from a single ceiling cut-out, using one 160 mm bass-midrange driver with a double voice coil and two 19 mm fabric dome tweeters.
That single-point stereo design is made for rooms where only one ceiling speaker fits: a hallway, a bathroom, a small kitchen or the end of a corridor, where a pair of speakers would be impractical. The moisture-proof construction suits humid rooms too, and the grille can be removed for installation while the clamping mechanism fixes the speaker into a plasterboard ceiling.
Ordinary ceiling speakers force a choice between one channel or two cut-outs, but this model keeps stereo imaging from one location by feeding its double voice coil from both channels, with separate left and right tweeters for a homogeneous treble spread. Midrange and treble level switches in three stages let the installer adapt the sound to reflective or heavily furnished rooms.
Key Features
Single-point stereo: one speaker plays both channels via a double voice coil and twin tweeters
Twin 19 mm tweeters: two fabric dome tweeters for a homogeneous stereo sound pattern
160 mm bass-midrange: textured polypropylene cone with a long-throw rubber surround
Moisture-proof build: suitable for humid rooms such as bathrooms, with a special clamping mechanism
Room adaptation: midrange and treble level switches in three stages, minus 3 dB, 0 dB and plus 3 dB
Best Suited For
Hallways, bathrooms, kitchens and small rooms where only one ceiling speaker position is available, and installers who need stereo sound from a single cut-out. That is the listener Heco INC 262 Stereo In-Ceiling Speaker is built for.
Setup and Connection Guide
Cut a 198 mm hole in the ceiling, remove the grille, loosen the clamping screws to position A, insert the speaker, then tighten the screws so the clamps pivot to position B and secure it. Connect both amplifier channels to the two 4 ohm voice-coil inputs, checking that the amplifier is comfortable with the resulting load, and set the midrange and treble switches to suit the room.
Use good-quality speaker cable of at least 1 mm squared for runs up to 3 metres and 1.5 mm squared for longer runs, keep both channel cables the same length, and always switch the amplifier off before connecting or disconnecting the speaker.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one speaker really play stereo Heco INC 262 Stereo In-Ceiling Speaker?
Yes. The double voice coil lets the left and right amplifier channels drive the same bass-midrange driver, while the two tweeters reproduce the left and right treble separately.
What amplifier load does it present
Each voice coil is 4 ohms, so the amplifier must be checked for compatibility with a 4 ohm minimum load and for series or parallel wiring as installed.
Can it be used in a bathroom
Yes. The Install Basic series components are suitable for wet rooms, including bathrooms and swimming-pool environments, thanks to the moisture-proof construction.
