JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker

JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker

The JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker is a premium two-way 6.5-inch coaxial ceiling loudspeaker from the Control Contractor 40 series, built for ceilings with only 142 mm of mounting depth.

At a glance, the JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker stands out for low-profile 142 mm depth (only 5.6 inches deep, for ceilings with restricted clearance); 120° conical coverage (very wide, consistent coverage from JBL’s RBI waveguide); 150 w program power (150 watts continuous program power with a multi-tap transformer); same sound as the 47c/t (matches the Control 47C/T so the two can be mixed in one system); complete install kit (C-ring, tile rails, cutout template, paint shield and grille included). Those points, taken together with the specification table below, are what separate this model from cheaper or differently sized alternatives in the same range.

Why Choose JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker?

The JBL Control 47LP Low-Profile Ceiling Loudspeaker solves the shallow-ceiling problem without giving up sound quality. Its RBI waveguide gives extremely consistent 120° coverage, and it matches the standard 47C/T sonically, so installers can mix the two in one building.

In practice, buyers choose this model for the combination above rather than for any single figure: the headline features work together, so the product sounds right in its intended setting instead of excelling in one area and falling short in another.

Setup and Connection Guide

Cut the 282 mm ceiling opening using the supplied template, fit the C-ring and tile rails, wire the locking connectors to the chosen tap or 8-ohm bypass, and fit the grille flush with the ceiling.

Before first use, confirm that the amplifier or source matches the connections and ratings in the specification table, start with levels low, and raise them gradually while listening from the normal seating or working position. That simple check avoids clipping, protects the drivers, and gives a fair first impression of what this product can do.

Also check the room and power side before ordering: measure the space the product will occupy, confirm the amplifier, television or source has a matching output, and allow ventilation and cable access around the unit so installation is straightforward on delivery day.
