The DALI Sonik Cinema is a 2-way centre channel speaker that keeps film dialogue clear and anchored to the screen — the missing piece for a complete Sonik home cinema.
The DALI SONIK CINEMA is the centre channel of DALI’s SONIK series — and since the centre speaker carries most of a film’s dialogue and on-screen action, it is voiced as a full-range speaker in its own right. Two 5.25-inch Clarity Cone woofers flank the series’ 29 mm low-loss soft dome tweeter, giving a frequency range of 46 Hz to 26 kHz: deep enough that voices have their natural weight and chest resonance, not just clarity.
Its LCRS design (Left, Centre, Right, Surround) means the same speaker can serve any front or surround position, so a system built from SONIK CINEMA units across the front has perfectly matched voicing — the same SMC Essential magnet technology and Clarity Cone drivers as every other SONIK model.
Key Features
Dedicated centre channel with twin 5.25-inch Clarity Cone woofers
29 mm low-loss soft dome tweeter shared with the SONIK series
Frequency range 46 Hz – 26 kHz (±3 dB)
High 89.5 dB sensitivity — clear dialogue at modest amplifier power
109 dB maximum SPL for full-scale cinema dynamics
SMC Essential magnet system for low-distortion midrange
LCRS design: usable as left, centre, right or surround
Bass reflex cabinet tuned to 46 Hz
Works against the wall (0–50 cm placement range)
Why the Centre Channel Decides Dialogue
Roughly two-thirds of a film soundtrack passes through the centre speaker, and every word of dialogue with it. The SONIK CINEMA’s twin woofers give it the cone area and headroom to reproduce voices and centre effects without strain at cinema levels, while the wide-dispersion tweeter keeps dialogue intelligible for seats well off to the sides — not just the middle cushion.
Clarity Cone and SMC, in Brief
The Clarity Cone’s paper-and-wood-fibre composite is light, stiff and self-damping, so the midrange where voices live stays uncoloured. DALI’s patented SMC material in the magnet system suppresses the hysteresis and eddy-current distortion that muddy that same band in conventional drivers — the engineering reason SONIK voices sound relaxed rather than shouty at volume.
Where the SONIK CINEMA Fits
As the centrepiece of a SONIK home cinema — between SONIK floorstanders or bookshelf speakers — or as a matching LCR trio across the front of a media room. Its shallow 214 mm depth and tolerance of wall-adjacent placement suit TV benches and shelves.
