Mission LX-C1 MKII Centre Speaker – Black

Mission LX-C1 MKII Black

The Mission LX-C1 MKII Black is the entry-level centre speaker of the LX MKII range, designed to put film dialogue and centre-stage sound exactly where it belongs: locked to the screen. Two 100 mm composite-fibre bass drivers flank a 25 mm microfibre dome tweeter in a compact sealed-style cabinet, producing a frequency response of 75Hz to 20kHz with 88 dB sensitivity and a peak output of 103 dB. Recommended amplifier power is 20 to 100 watts into 8 ohms, and the crossover sits at 3.5kHz. The Mission LX-C1 MKII Black is voiced to match the rest of the LX MKII range, so dialogue, music and effects move seamlessly between front left, centre and front right speakers, and its compact 400 mm width fits under most televisions or on a media console.

Why Choose Mission LX-C1 MKII Black?

Dialogue is the hardest job in home cinema, and the Mission LX-C1 MKII Black is engineered for it: twin 100 mm drivers spread sound widely so listeners off-centre still hear clear speech, while the microfibre dome tweeter keeps voices natural and sibilance smooth. Because it shares drivers, voicing and crossover philosophy with the LX MKII standmounts and floorstanders, pans across the front soundstage stay tonally consistent instead of changing character at the centre. Its sealed-style cabinet and modest size make placement easy under a screen or inside a console, without the port noise or boom that can blur speech. For anyone building an LX MKII cinema, the Mission LX-C1 MKII Black is the essential centre anchor that turns a stereo system into a believable home theatre.

Best Suited For

The Mission LX-C1 MKII Black suits home cinema builders using LX MKII front speakers who need a matching centre for dialogue. It fits living rooms and media rooms with a television or projector screen, placed centrally under or above the screen. It is a centre-channel speaker, so it is not a standalone stereo speaker; it needs front left and right speakers and an AV receiver to form a cinema system.

Setup and Connection Guide

Place the Mission LX-C1 MKII Black centrally under or above your screen, angled toward seated ear height, with its front edge clear of the console front to avoid reflections. Connect it to your AV receiver’s centre channel output with quality cable, observing polarity, and set the centre channel to Small with an 80Hz crossover when a subwoofer is in use, or Large in a system without one. Run your receiver’s room calibration, check that dialogue sits centred on the screen from every seat, and adjust centre level by a decibel or two if speech needs extra presence over effects.
