Dialogue and performance

Centre speakers live or die in the midrange, and the S7-25C paper cones are embossed to stiffen the surface, which keeps voices articulate instead of chesty. The dual woofers share the workload either side of the tweeter, holding dialogue steady and centred for seats across the sofa rather than only in the middle, and there is enough output headroom for action peaks to arrive without hardening. Design and build

Set the centre channel to small in the receiver with an 80 Hz crossover where a subwoofer is fitted, then run the receiver calibration so levels and distance align with the front pair. Note the 4-ohm nominal impedance when choosing amplification; most modern AV receivers handle it, but the 25 to 200 W recommended range is the sensible guide.
