Monitor Audio Bronze C150

Monitor Audio Bronze C150 Centre Speaker – Sealed Centre Channel for Bronze 6G Home Cinema

The Monitor Audio Bronze C150 is the dedicated centre channel speaker of the sixth-generation Bronze series, designed to carry dialogue and on-screen effects in a home cinema system. Its sealed cabinet houses two 5.5 inch C-CAM mid-bass drivers either side of a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, in a compact enclosure that fits on a cabinet or shelf below the screen.

Bronze is Monitor Audio’s long-running entry point to its hierarchy, below the Silver and Gold ranges, and the 6G generation borrows driver ideas from the company’s higher series. The C150 is voiced to match the Bronze 50, 100, 200 and 500 speakers, so a system built from the range presents one consistent character across the front soundstage.

Dialogue and soundstage performance

The centre channel carries most film dialogue, so clarity at typical listening levels matters more than outright bass depth. The twin C-CAM drivers use Damped Concentric Mode technology and updated cone geometry for a clean, precise midrange, while the Uniform Dispersion waveguide on the gold dome tweeter spreads high frequencies evenly, keeping speech intelligible for listeners sitting off to the sides as well as in the centre seat.

Cabinet and placement

A sealed enclosure, rather than a ported one, keeps the response controlled when the speaker sits inside a media unit or against a wall, positions where ported centre speakers can sound boomy. Pureflow silver-plated oxygen-free copper internal cabling and a rigid cabinet construction support that controlled presentation, and the acoustically transparent magnetic grille keeps the look discreet under a television.

System matching and amplification

With 8 ohms nominal impedance, a minimum of 4.3 ohms and a recommended amplifier range of 30 to 120 watts, the C150 pairs comfortably with mainstream AV receivers. It crosses over at 2,700 Hz and reaches a maximum output of 109 dBA, enough headroom for dynamic film soundtracks in typical living rooms when combined with Bronze front speakers and a subwoofer for the lowest frequencies.

Finishes and system options

The Bronze 6G range is offered in Black, White, Walnut and Urban Grey finishes, and the C150 follows the same styling, with a clean baffle, contrasting driver surrounds and the hexagonal grille pattern shared with the Silver and Gold series above it. A Bronze system can be assembled gradually, starting with a stereo pair and adding the C150, Bronze FX surround speakers and the Bronze W10 subwoofer as the room and budget allow, with every speaker sharing the same C-CAM driver technology and voicing.

Choose the Bronze C150 if you are building or completing a Bronze 6G home cinema and need dialogue to stay clear and anchored to the screen. It is the natural centre partner for Bronze stereo pairs and floorstanders, especially where the centre speaker must live in a cabinet or close to a wall.
