The Phantom I 108 dB is the flagship of Devialet’s Phantom range: a single spherical enclosure producing 1,100 watts RMS and sound pressure levels up to 108 dB at one metre, with a bandwidth of 14 Hz to 27 kHz. This is the Gold model, with side plates plated in 22-carat pink gold over a white body. Its performance comes from Devialet’s proprietary technologies — ADH hybrid amplification, SAM speaker active matching and HBI heart bass implosion — in a speaker just 34 cm deep.

How the Phantom makes its bass
The Phantom’s two aluminium woofers face each other across a sealed, high-pressure enclosure (HBI — Heart Bass Implosion), firing in opposition so their forces cancel and the cabinet stays still while the air moves. SAM (Speaker Active Matching) measures the drivers’ actual behaviour and adapts the signal in real time, extending controlled response to 14 Hz — infrasonic territory that speakers this size are not supposed to reach — while protecting the drivers from over-excursion.
ADH amplification
ADH (Analog Digital Hybrid) pairs a Class A analogue stage, which defines the sound quality, with Class D power stages that supply the current — Devialet’s founding technology from its Expert amplifiers. The measured result is a total harmonic distortion plus noise figure of 0.0005% and a background noise of 0 dB SPL at 50 cm: the Phantom is effectively silent when the music is. Accuracy across 20 Hz to 20 kHz is within +/-2 dB.
Streaming and multiroom
The Devialet app controls streaming over dual-band Wi-Fi or gigabit Ethernet: AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, UPnP and Roon Ready are supported, Bluetooth covers direct playback, and an optical Toslink input takes a television or CD transport at up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Two Phantom I speakers form a stereo pair, and multiple units build a multiroom system synchronised over the network.
The Gold finish
The Gold model finishes the Phantom’s side plates in 22-carat pink gold plating — the same precious-metal treatment as Devialet’s Opera de Paris editions — over the white RAL 9016 body with white dome drivers. The speaker measures 252 x 255 x 342 mm and weighs 11.4 kg; a Devialet Remote is included.
Ownership
The Phantom I runs Devialet’s DOS 2 operating system with updates through the app, and its EVO platform architecture is designed for the electronics to be serviceable independently of the acoustic chamber — a consideration in a product at this level, where the expected service life is measured in decades rather than product cycles.
