Edifier R2750DB MKII Powered Bookshelf Speakers, 144W 3-Way Active Studio Monitor With Sub Out, Hi-Res Audio, Bluetooth 6.0 With LDAC, HDMI/Optical/Coaxial For Turntable, PC, Home Audio – Walnut

Edifier R2750DB MKII – Three-Way Powered Speakers, No Amplifier Needed

The Edifier R2750DB MKII is a pair of powered bookshelf speakers that replaces a traditional amplifier-and-speakers stack with one self-contained system. Each cabinet runs a genuine three-way design – a 7-inch long-throw woofer, a 4.5-inch midrange driver and a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter – driven by four Class D amplifiers producing 144 W RMS in total, with digital signal processing handling the three-way crossover.

The result is a system that connects directly to a television, turntable, computer or phone, in a walnut finish that suits a living room rather than a studio.

Why three-way, and why active

In a two-way speaker, one driver must cover both bass and the midrange where voices live, which forces compromises at both ends. A dedicated midrange driver frees the woofer to move air and lets the midrange stay articulate, so dialogue and vocals remain clear even in busy recordings. Making the system active, with separate amplifiers per driver group and a DSP crossover, lets Edifier control that hand-off precisely rather than losing power and accuracy in passive crossover components.

One system for TV, vinyl and streaming

HDMI eARC makes the television connection simple: one cable, volume controlled by the TV remote, and sound that arrives in step with the picture. Optical and coaxial inputs cover disc players, streamers and projectors, the line input takes a turntable with its own preamp, and Bluetooth with LDAC streams from a phone at higher quality than standard Bluetooth audio. Multipoint pairing keeps two devices connected, so switching between a laptop and a phone needs no re-pairing ritual.

Room to grow

The subwoofer output leaves a clean upgrade path: run the speakers alone for music and everyday TV, then add a powered subwoofer when films demand the lowest octave. The app EQ lets you trim the balance for your room and taste, and the physical remote covers daily use without opening an app at all.

These are large bookshelf speakers, so plan shelf or stand space for them. In return, you get a complete hi-fi system – sources in, sound out – with no separate amplifier to buy, match or house.

Everyday control

Daily use is deliberately uncomplicated. The television remote handles volume over HDMI eARC, the included infrared remote covers source switching and tone from the sofa, and the app is there when you want the 9-band EQ or a preset for late-night listening at lower volume. Side-panel controls on the speaker itself cover the basics without any remote at all. Nothing about the system requires a manual after the first evening, which is how living-room hi-fi should behave: impressive when you listen, invisible when you do not.
