JBL Go 4 Portable Speaker – Blue

JBL Go 4 Portable Speaker – Blue

The JBL Go 4 in Blue is an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker small enough to sit in the palm of a hand, yet it delivers the clear, punchy JBL Pro Sound the Go series is known for. It weighs just 190 g and measures under 10 cm across, so it slips into a jacket pocket, a backpack side pouch or a travel kit without being noticed until the music starts. This listing is the Blue finish, an easy colour to spot at the bottom of a bag and a cheerful match for desks, dorm rooms and days out.

Small body, full JBL sound

A speaker this size has no room to waste, and the Go 4 uses its compact enclosure efficiently. Its 4.2 W output and 90 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response produce a presentation that is clear on vocals and podcasts, lively on pop and acoustic tracks, and fuller in the low end than its dimensions suggest. It is designed for near-field and small-group listening: a desk while you work, a bedside table, a kitchen counter, a picnic blanket or a hotel room. Volume is generous for those settings, and the tuning keeps dialogue and lyrics intelligible rather than turning everything into bass.

Built for water, dust and travel

The IP67 rating means the Go 4 is both waterproof and dustproof, so rain at a picnic, splashes by a pool or sand and dust on a day outdoors are not reasons to put it away. The redesigned integrated loop makes the speaker easy to clip to a bag strap, hang from a hook or carry between rooms. The grille fabric and plastic parts incorporate post-consumer recycled materials, and the compact, durable housing is made to be handled daily rather than treated as fragile. After outdoor use, a simple rinse and dry is generally all the care the exterior needs.

Playtime, pairing and everyday playback

The rechargeable battery provides up to 7 hours of music on a charge, and Playtime Boost adds up to 2 further hours by optimising performance for louder, crisper playback when the battery runs low. A full charge takes about 3 hours over the USB-C connection. Bluetooth 5.3 handles the wireless link, and multipoint connection lets the speaker stay connected to two devices, so music from a laptop and a call alert from a phone can share the same speaker. For a bigger sound, two Go 4 speakers can be paired for true stereo separation, or multiple Auracast-enabled JBL speakers can be linked together for wider coverage at a gathering.

The Go 4 succeeds because it asks for almost nothing: no setup ritual, no fragile finish to protect and no bag space worth negotiating. Charge it, pair it, drop it in a pocket and take clear, enjoyable sound into rooms and places where a larger speaker would simply be left behind. In Blue, it is also the easiest member of the kit to find again when the day is done.
