Sennheiser SPORT True Wireless Earbuds (Black)

Sennheiser SPORT True Wireless Earbuds (Black)

The Sennheiser SPORT True Wireless earbuds are built for training: a secure in-ear fit that stays put through runs and circuits, an IP54 rating against sweat and rain, and Sennheiser’s 7 mm TrueResponse dynamic driver for the clear, energetic sound the company’s wired sports earphones were known for. This is the black finish.

Sport earbuds live or die on fit, so Sennheiser ships the SPORT with multiple ear adapter sizes and ear fins, and lets the user choose an open or closed ear adapter style — closed for isolation and bass in the gym, open for awareness of traffic and surroundings outdoors. Battery life runs up to 9 hours from the buds, with the charging case taking the total to 27 hours.

Sound for movement

The SPORT tuning is energetic without becoming crude: bass has enough drive for training playlists, voices stay clear for podcasts and coaching apps, and the closed adapters add the low-end seal that running footfalls usually break. Through the Smart Control app, the equaliser and presets let you trim the sound for music or speech.

Training practicality

IP54 sealing covers sweat, rain showers and dusty trails. The fins lock the buds in for intervals and lifts, touch controls handle tracks and calls without reaching for the phone, and the case is compact enough for a gym-bag pocket. For calls, beamforming microphones keep the voice intelligible in normal conditions.

Fit is personal

Spend the first session trying the adapter and fin combinations — the right seal decides both comfort over an hour and how much bass you hear. Runners who train near traffic should start with the open adapters; gym users who want isolation should start closed.

For athletes who want a proper hi-fi name in a training bud — secure fit, sweat-proofing and battery for a week of sessions — SPORT True Wireless is Sennheiser’s direct answer.

Ownership notes

Rinse or wipe the buds after salty, sweaty sessions and let them dry before they go back in the case; sweat is the long-term enemy of charging contacts. Keep a spare set of tips in the gym bag — a lost tip mid-training-block is the commonest way sport buds get retired early. Handled that way, the SPORT’s sealing and build will see out several seasons of training without complaint.
