Sonos Era 100 Smart Speaker – Black

The Sonos Era 100 is Sonos’s compact smart speaker, the successor to the Sonos One, redesigned with a slimmer profile and a genuinely stereo soundstage from a single enclosure. Two angled tweeters fire left and right while a midwoofer handles the middle and low end, all driven by three Class-D amplifiers with custom processing that keeps the stereo image wide for a speaker small enough for a bookshelf or kitchen counter.

As part of the Sonos system, an Era 100 plays from the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth 5.0, with Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control built in for hands-free commands — and a physical microphone switch for the times you want it off. Trueplay tuning measures the room and corrects the speaker’s output for the surfaces around it.

Key Features

• True stereo sound from a single compact speaker (two angled tweeters, one midwoofer)
• WiFi 6 streaming plus Bluetooth 5.0 for guests and travel routers
• Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control built in, with a hardware mic-off switch
• Trueplay room tuning and adjustable EQ in the Sonos app
• Stereo-pair two Era 100s, or use them as rear surrounds with a Sonos soundbar
• USB-C line-in (with the Sonos Line-In Adapter) for a turntable or computer

Why One Speaker Can Play in Stereo

Most small speakers place a single tweeter facing forward, which collapses the stereo image into a point. The Era 100 angles its two tweeters outward and uses signal processing to keep shared content — vocals, bass, dialogue — centred while directional detail spreads to the sides. The result is a soundstage that feels wider than the box, which matters most for music recorded with a real sense of space, from jazz trios to film scores.

Everyday Use

Era 100 fits bedrooms, kitchens, home offices and bathrooms (it is humidity resistant, though not waterproof), and a pair makes an excellent compact stereo system. Owners of Sonos soundbars can add two as wireless rears. The full technical specification is in the Additional Information tab.
