Alto TS412 PA Speaker And TS18S Subwoofer Combo

Alto Professional TS412 and TS18S Combo – Powered PA Speaker and 18-Inch Subwoofer System

This combo pairs two powered cabinets from Alto Professional’s TS4 family: the TS412, a 12-inch two-way full-range loudspeaker, and the TS18S, an 18-inch powered subwoofer. Together they form the classic tops-over-sub live-sound arrangement, in which the subwoofer handles the low frequencies it is built for and the full-range cabinet concentrates on vocals, instruments and detail.

Both cabinets are self-powered with Class D amplification, so no external amplifier is needed. The TS412 contributes an on-board three-channel mixer, Bluetooth streaming and app control, and DSP voicing modes, while the TS18S adds selectable EQ tunings and phase alignment controls so the two cabinets can be integrated cleanly in different rooms. It is a practical building block for DJs, live performers, venues and event work.

Key features

• TS412: 2,500 W peak (1,250 W continuous RMS) 12-inch two-way powered loudspeaker
• TS412: 132 dB peak maximum SPL with 90 x 60 degree horn coverage
• TS412: Bluetooth audio streaming, True Wireless Stereo linking and Alto App control
• TS412: three-channel mixer with two combo XLR and TRS inputs and mic/line switching
• TS18S: 2,500 W peak Class D power driving an 18-inch woofer with 3-inch voice coil
• TS18S: 137 dB peak maximum SPL and response down to 29 Hz (-3 dB)
• TS18S: selectable EQ tunings and a four-position phase alignment switch
• Both cabinets: electronic clip, thermal and transducer overdrive protection

The TS412 full-range loudspeaker

The TS412 combines a 12-inch woofer with a 2.5-inch high-temperature voice coil and a 1-inch exit ceramic compression driver with a 1.4-inch coil, crossed over at 2 kHz. Its rated frequency response is 53 Hz to 20 kHz, extending to 44 Hz at -10 dB. Four DSP speaker-use modes cover standard, live, DJ and a custom setting created in the free Alto App, which also provides remote configuration. The cabinet can stand freely, sit on a 36 mm pole, work as a wedge monitor or be flown from its integral M10 suspension points, and at 15 kg it remains a one-person lift. A USB charging port (5 V, 2.1 A) can power a phone or tablet at the gig.

The TS18S subwoofer

Low frequencies are the TS18S’s single job. Its 18-inch driver and high-efficiency Class D amplifier produce a rated response of 29 Hz to 100 Hz at -3 dB, reaching 27 Hz at -10 dB, with 137 dB peak output. Two combo XLR and TRS inputs and two XLR outputs make it straightforward to feed the sub first and pass signal on to the TS412, or to link additional cabinets. User-selectable EQ tunings (Off, Live and DJ) and a phase alignment selector (0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees) help the sub sum correctly with the tops in different placements. The internally braced, front-ported MDF cabinet has a 36 mm pole socket on top, so the TS412 can be mounted directly above it, and it weighs 42.2 kg.

Putting the system together

A typical setup runs the mixer output into the TS18S, uses its outputs to feed the TS412, sets the subwoofer’s EQ and phase for the room, and lets the TS412’s sub-size and speaker-use controls align its own output with the sub below it. Bluetooth streaming on the TS412 covers background music and breaks without extra cabling. Because coverage in stereo needs a left and right full-range cabinet, this combo should be planned as the foundation of a system that can grow with a second TS412 when the audience size demands it.

Built for regular work

Both cabinets carry electronic clip, thermal and transducer overdrive protection, fanless or road-ready construction appropriate to their roles, and finishes chosen to survive transport and repeated setup. The TS412’s moulded enclosure shrugs off knocks that would dent a wooden box, while the TS18S’s splatter-spray finish resists marking in transit.

As a package, the combo covers the two halves of a PA system properly: a versatile, mixer-equipped top box for everything the audience needs to hear clearly, and a dedicated subwoofer supplying the weight underneath it.
