TAGA Harmony TAV-506 V.2 5.0 Speaker Package

TAGA Harmony TAV-506 V.2 Speaker Package

The TAGA Harmony TAV-506 v.2 is a complete 5.0 home theatre speaker package from the Polish brand TAGA Harmony: a pair of TAV-506F v.2 floorstanding front speakers, a TAV-506C v.2 centre speaker and a pair of TAV-506S v.2 surround speakers — add any AV receiver (and a subwoofer if you want the deepest effects) for a full surround system. Version 2 was a ground-up redesign of the original 506 set, re-engineered to perform both as dynamic home theatre speakers and as a credible stereo pair.

The floorstanding fronts are 3-way designs: a 25 mm silk dome tweeter in TAGA’s TWG waveguide faceplate, a 133 mm yellow glass-fibre midrange driver with a bullet-shaped dust cap, and two 133 mm paper-cone bass drivers, crossing over at 700 Hz and 3.8 kHz. Frequency range is 42 Hz – 25 kHz, sensitivity 89 dB, recommended amplifier power 20–120 W, impedance 6 ohms. The centre uses two 102 mm bass/midrange drivers with the same 25 mm tweeter (88 dB, 55 Hz – 25 kHz); the surrounds use a single 102 mm driver each (86 dB). Cabinets are TAGA’s TLIE (Taga Low Interference Enclosures) — high-quality MDF, 9 mm walls with a 12 mm front baffle, shaped to limit resonance, diffraction and turbulence.

• Fronts: 3-way, 2 x 133 mm bass + 133 mm glass-fibre midrange + 25 mm silk tweeter

• TWG waveguide tweeter faceplate for even on- and off-axis dispersion
• TLIE low-interference MDF cabinets (9 mm / 12 mm front baffle)
• All channels 6 ohms; fronts suit 20–120 W amplifiers
• Ferrofluid-cooled tweeters with flat-wire aluminium voice coils
• Matt PVC finishes in the range: Black, Wenge, Walnut, White

Driver details

The silk dome tweeter uses an oversized ferrite magnet, ferrofluid cooling and a heavy-duty flat-wire aluminium voice coil for power handling and detail; the horn-like TWG faceplate with concave diffusers flattens dispersion so the tonal balance holds up off-axis — important for centre-channel dialogue heard from side seats. The midrange’s rigid, ultra-light glass-fibre cone with rubber surround moves fast for a rich, open midband, and the bass drivers use paper cones with rubber suspension on injection-moulded chassis.

Placement, briefly

Per TAGA’s manual: fronts flank the screen following normal stereo placement; the centre sits horizontally at seated ear level (or just below/above the TV, angled toward the ears); surrounds go beside or behind the listening position, above seated ear height. The package is 5.0 — a powered subwoofer such as TAGA’s TSW series completes a 5.1 system for film LFE.

Where it fits

First home cinema systems and stereo-plus-surround upgrades that want floorstanding fronts without a flagship budget. Full specifications are in the Additional Information table on this page.
