The Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash is the flagship powered subwoofer of Fyne’s F3 range, built for large rooms and serious home cinema. Its massive 300 mm multi-fibre driver, over half a kilowatt of Direct Digital Amplification and DSP control with a dedicated Bass Boost mode deliver bass down to 28 Hz, the subterranean region where film explosions and organ pedals live. The Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash is the subwoofer to buy when smaller subs sound polite and the system needs real physical impact.
Why Choose Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash?
The case for the Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash is headroom. A 12-inch driver with 370 W RMS and 520 W peak Class D power does not strain on demanding soundtracks, so bass stays timed and detailed instead of turning into a vague rumble, and the rigid MDF cabinet with down-firing port keeps that energy clean. Individual LFE and stereo RCA inputs with filtering, phase control, a 12 V trigger and auto-sensing power make integration straightforward with any AV receiver, and the black ash finish keeps a large cabinet visually discreet.

Bass Boost mode: DSP lift across the 30-70 Hz movie LFE band for home cinema slam

Full integration controls: LFE and RCA inputs with filtering, phase control, 12 V trigger and auto-sensing power
Best Suited For
The Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash suits large home cinemas, systems built around Fyne floorstanding speakers, and listeners who want music and movies with genuine sub-bass weight rather than polite low-end suggestion.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect the Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash to the AV receiver subwoofer output, or to a stereo amplifier pre-out for music, and set level and phase from the listening seat. Start near the front speakers, move it away from corners if bass booms, and run receiver room calibration if available. Keep the down-firing port clear of thick rugs and leave ventilation space around the cabinet.
Frequently Asked Questions
What amplifier do I need?
The Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash is a passive speaker, so pair it with an amplifier inside the recommended power range in the specification table (the recommended range in the specification table); too little clean power is a more common problem than too much, because clipping damages drivers.
Does placement matter?
Yes. Keep the Fyne Audio F3-12 Active Subwoofer – Black Ash clear of corners if bass sounds boomy, toe the pair slightly toward the listening seat, and keep the tweeter close to ear height for the most even stereo image.
Is it sold singly or as a pair?
Check the listing quantity before ordering: tower and bookshelf models in this range are normally priced per pair in India, while centre and in-ceiling models are normally priced per unit, and this listing follows the sheet unit for its row.
