The PACE DIAMOND 12 Active Subwoofer is a 12-inch powered subwoofer built for deep, smooth and heart-pounding bass in home theatre and music systems. The PACE DIAMOND 12 combines a 12-inch woofer with a deep-neck chassis and a high-powered Class AB amplifier using Toshiba transistors, housed in a high-performance MDF cabinet with a toroidal transformer for clean power delivery. A dedicated subwoofer input bypasses the crossover control for use with receivers that manage bass themselves, while high-level and low-level inputs keep the PACE DIAMOND 12 compatible with almost any stereo or home theatre system.
Why Choose the PACE DIAMOND 12 Active Subwoofer?
Many subwoofers chase loudness and lose control; the PACE DIAMOND 12 is designed the other way around. Its Class AB amplifier and toroidal transformer prioritise clean, stable power, and the MDF cabinet resists the resonances that colour bass in thinner enclosures. The result is bass that stays musical at moderate volumes and stays composed when a film soundtrack demands sudden impact. Variable crossover frequency control, a phase switch and a volume control for sensitivity let the listener blend the subwoofer with the main speakers instead of merely adding boom, and the dedicated subwoofer input means a modern AV receiver can take over crossover duties cleanly. For a living-room theatre or a serious two-channel system, the PACE DIAMOND 12 offers a level of control that simpler powered subwoofers do not.
Key Features
12-inch woofer with deep-neck chassis: The large driver moves the air needed for genuinely deep bass, while the deep-neck chassis supports controlled excursion.
150-watt Class AB amplifier: A high-powered Class AB design using Toshiba transistors, fed by a toroidal transformer, delivers clean and dynamic low-frequency power.
High-performance MDF cabinet: The rigid MDF enclosure minimises cabinet colouration so the bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
Dedicated subwoofer input: The PACE DIAMOND 12 offers a dedicated input that bypasses the crossover frequency control, ideal for AV receivers with their own bass management.
Flexible connectivity: High-level mono and stereo speaker inputs, low-level mono and stereo RCA line inputs, and a dedicated subwoofer input cover stereo amplifiers, receivers and processors.
Full blending controls: Crossover frequency control, phase switch and volume control let the PACE DIAMOND 12 integrate precisely with your main speakers and room.
Best Suited For
The PACE DIAMOND 12 suits medium and larger living rooms, dedicated home theatres and music rooms where a compact 8-inch subwoofer runs out of depth. It is a strong match for floorstanding and bookshelf speaker systems, AV receivers with a subwoofer output, and stereo amplifiers used for both music and film. It also fits lounges, studios and hospitality spaces that need authoritative background bass without a commercial installation.
Setup and Connection Guide
Place the PACE DIAMOND 12 near the front speakers, ideally between them or just to one side, with its feet on a firm floor. If your receiver has a subwoofer output, connect it to the dedicated subwoofer input so the receiver handles crossover duties; otherwise use the low-level RCA inputs from a preamplifier output, or the high-level speaker inputs from a stereo amplifier’s speaker terminals. Set the volume control low, set the phase switch to the position that gives fuller bass at your listening seat, then adjust the crossover frequency until male voices and upper bass stay with the main speakers while deep effects and bass notes come from the subwoofer. Small movements away from a corner will tame boominess if the room reinforces the lowest notes too strongly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the PACE DIAMOND 12 need a separate amplifier?
No. The PACE DIAMOND 12 is an active subwoofer with its own built-in 150-watt Class AB amplifier, so it connects directly to a receiver, processor or stereo amplifier.
What is the dedicated subwoofer input for?
The dedicated subwoofer input bypasses the PACE DIAMOND 12 crossover frequency control. Use it when your AV receiver manages bass itself, so the receiver’s crossover setting alone governs what the subwoofer plays.
Can the PACE DIAMOND 12 work with a stereo amplifier that has no subwoofer output?
Yes. The high-level speaker inputs accept a connection from a stereo amplifier’s speaker terminals, so the PACE DIAMOND 12 can be added to a traditional two-channel system without a dedicated subwoofer output.
