The Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker is a 12-inch powered PA speaker that puts a complete 1,500-watt system into a single plywood cabinet, and the Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker is the working choice for bands, DJs, houses of worship and rental companies that need serious output without a separate amplifier rack. Its EVS-12M woofer and DH-1M titanium compression driver deliver up to 132 dB peak, while QuickSmartDSP makes setup a matter of turning one knob instead of learning a menu system.
Portable PA speakers usually force a choice between power, sound quality and ease of use, and the Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker refuses it: the Class D amplifier and EV-engineered transducers give genuine headroom for live peaks, the patented SST waveguide keeps coverage even across the audience, and the DSP presets for Music, Live, Speech and Club plus location presets for tripod, monitor, wall and suspended use mean the speaker adapts to the room instead of fighting it. Intelligent thermal management with a variable-speed fan keeps it reliable through long sets, and the 15 mm plywood cabinet with EVCoat finish survives the van, the stage and the install alike.

Best Suited For
The Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker suits live bands, mobile DJs, houses of worship, schools, corporate events and rental fleets needing a loud, reliable full-range speaker. It is a powered speaker, so it needs mains power and a line or microphone source, not an external amplifier, and it pairs naturally with EKX subwoofers for larger rooms.
Setup and Connection Guide
Stand the Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker on a tripod, place it as a floor monitor, or wall-mount or suspend it using the M10 points, then connect the mixer or microphone to the XLR/TRS combo inputs or the stereo RCA input. Select the Music, Live, Speech or Club preset and the matching location preset on the QuickSmartDSP LCD, set the input gains so the limiter only flashes on the loudest peaks, and link further speakers from the XLR output. For a full-range-plus-sub system, set the subwoofer crossover preset to match the EKX top.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Electro-Voice EKX-12P Powered Loudspeaker active or passive?
Active. It has a built-in 1,500-watt Class D amplifier and DSP, so it needs mains power and no external amplifier.
Can it be used as a stage monitor?
Yes. It has a monitor angle and a Monitor location preset in QuickSmartDSP, alongside tripod, wall and suspended presets.
How is it different from the 15-inch EKX-15P?
The EKX-15P uses a 15-inch woofer, reaches 55 Hz at -3 dB and 134 dB peak, and is larger and heavier; the 12-inch model here is the more compact, easier-to-carry option.
