JBL STAGE XD-5 5.25-INCH IP67 INDOOR/OUTDOOR ALL-WEATHER SPEAKERS (PAIR)

JBL Stage XD-5 5.25-Inch IP67 Outdoor Speakers (Pair)

The JBL Stage XD-5 is a pair of 2-way indoor/outdoor loudspeakers built for places where ordinary speakers cannot survive. With a 5.25-inch polypropylene graphite-filled cone woofer, a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter behind a High-Definition Imaging waveguide, and a fully sealed IP67-rated enclosure, the JBL Stage XD-5 brings clear, punchy JBL sound to patios, gardens, poolsides, balconies and terraces in any weather. The pair also works indoors wherever a tough, wall-mounted speaker is wanted. For an independent listing with full specifications, see Audio Advice’s page for this model.

Why Choose JBL Stage XD-5?

Outdoor speakers fail for two reasons: water gets in, and small drivers sound thin once they are out in the open. This pair answers both. Its IP67 rating means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against immersion in water, so rain, splashes, humidity and dust are not a threat. Its 5.25-inch woofer is sized for real mid-bass outdoors, while the HDI waveguide keeps the treble smooth and even across a patio rather than beaming it at one seat. Add the included wall-mount brackets, and the pair can be aimed exactly at the listening area instead of firing sound in every direction. It is a speaker designed to live outside permanently, not one that has to be carried indoors when the weather turns.

Key Features

• IP67 all-weather protection: The sealed enclosure is dust-tight and protected against water immersion, so the pair stays outside through rain and humidity all year.
• High-Definition Imaging waveguide: The 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter sits behind a patented HDI waveguide with an acoustic lens for smooth, accurate highs over a wide area.
• 5.25-inch graphite-filled woofer: The polypropylene graphite-filled cone woofer delivers consistent, deep mid-bass that holds up outdoors, where bass is easily lost.
• Included wall-mount brackets: The supplied brackets allow easy installation and angle adjustment, so each speaker can be tilted toward the seating area.
• Zero-bezel magnetic grilles: The grilles attach magnetically with no visible bezel, giving a clean look on the wall in either finish.
• Repairable, sustainable design: The Stage XD series is built as the first repairable IP67 outdoor loudspeaker, with eco-friendly packaging and a product designed for a long service life.

Best Suited For

The JBL Stage XD-5 suits patios, gardens, poolside decks, balconies, verandas and outdoor dining areas where music is wanted without worrying about the forecast. It also suits cafes, restaurants and bars with outdoor seating, farmhouses and villas with landscaped grounds, and indoor spaces that need a rugged wall-mounted pair, such as gyms, workshops and utility rooms. The 5.25-inch size is the right match for small to medium outdoor areas; for larger lawns and open grounds, the bigger 6.5-inch XD-6 covers more area with deeper bass.

Setup and Connection Guide

Mounting starts with the included wall brackets: fix one bracket per speaker to a solid wall or post, then attach the speaker and angle it toward the main seating area, keeping both speakers at roughly ear height or slightly above and aimed to cross just in front of the listeners. Wire each speaker to a stereo amplifier or receiver rated 20 to 100 watts RMS per channel into 6 ohms, keeping polarity consistent on both sides. Because this is a passive speaker, no mains power is needed at the speaker itself, only the speaker cable from the amplifier. The pair works in temperatures from minus 35 degrees Celsius to 75 degrees Celsius, and the wall-mount extension of 2.8 inches gives clearance for angling the cabinet even on uneven walls.

Can the JBL Stage XD-5 stay outside in the rain?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against immersion in water, so rain, splashes and humidity will not damage it. The pair is designed to live outdoors permanently, unlike indoor speakers that must be brought inside when it rains.

Does the JBL Stage XD-5 need a separate amplifier?

Yes. This is a passive loudspeaker pair, so it needs a stereo amplifier or receiver rated 20 to 100 watts RMS per channel into 6 ohms. It does not have a built-in amplifier, Bluetooth receiver or mains power connection; all sound comes through the speaker cable from the amplifier.

What is the difference between the JBL Stage XD-5 and the XD-6?

The XD-5 uses a 5.25-inch woofer and suits small to medium outdoor areas, while the XD-6 uses a larger 6.5-inch woofer, reaches lower to 55Hz and suits bigger spaces. Both share the same IP67 rating, HDI waveguide tweeter, wall-mount brackets and Black and White finishes, so the choice comes down to room size and how much bass is wanted.
