Klipsch PRO-250RPW In-Wall LCR Speaker (White)

Klipsch PRO-250RPW In-Wall LCR Speaker – Reference Premiere Sound With Nothing on Show

The Klipsch PRO-250RPW is an in-wall LCR speaker from the Professional Reference Premiere architectural series, built for dedicated home theatres where the front stage should be heard and not seen. It carries the acoustic hardware of the Reference Premiere box speaker line into a flush wall mounting: dual 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofers and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter mated to a composite coated Hybrid Cross Section Tractrix horn.

Because it works as a left, centre or right channel, three identical speakers can be installed across the front wall for a perfectly matched soundstage, either behind an acoustically transparent screen or flush in drywall. The sealed enclosure is sized for standard wall cavities, the grille is paintable and magnetic, and the white finish of this version suits light-coloured cinema and living room walls.

Why horn loading suits cinema

Klipsch has built speakers around horn-loaded tweeters for decades, and the reason is efficiency. The Tractrix horn couples the small titanium dome to the room far more effectively than a bare dome can, so dialogue and effects are reproduced with less amplifier effort and lower distortion at the same listening level. Controlled directivity is the second benefit: high frequencies are aimed at the seating area rather than sprayed at side walls and ceilings, which keeps speech intelligible and imaging precise across the front stage. In a centre channel role, where most film dialogue lives, that clarity is the whole point.

Installation and system building

The PRO-250RPW is designed for custom installation. The SecureFit system separates the installation frame from the speaker module, so the frame can be fitted and finished around during construction and the speaker secured afterwards. Its sealed enclosure means performance does not depend on whatever happens to be inside the wall cavity, and the slim depth fits standard stud walls. Pair three across the front with in-wall or in-ceiling surrounds from the same Klipsch architectural family and a competent subwoofer, since a crossover to a sub is expected for full-range film bass. The paintable grille then disappears into the decor.

Who the PRO-250RPW suits

Choose the PRO-250RPW if you are building a dedicated cinema room or a clean living-room theatre and want Reference Premiere dynamics without floor-standing cabinets in view. It suits custom installers and homeowners planning the room properly, with matched front channels and amplification from a good AV receiver. If you cannot cut into walls, a conventional box speaker is the practical answer instead. For rooms being built or renovated, this is the neater and better-sounding route.
