WiiM Amp Ultra Streaming Amplifier with Touchscreen (Space Gray)
The WiiM Amp Ultra is WiiM’s most advanced streaming amplifier yet, combining a high-resolution music streamer, a powerful 100W-per-channel amplifier and a preamplifier in a single compact aluminium chassis. With a vivid 3.5-inch glass-covered touchscreen on the front, an ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE DAC, Post Filter Feedback (PFFB) amplifier technology and built-in RoomFit room correction, it turns any pair of passive speakers into a complete modern hi-fi system — no separate streamer, DAC or preamplifier required. Finished in Space Gray, it is designed for music lovers, home theatre fans and smart-home users who want serious sound without a rack full of boxes.
Why Choose WiiM Amp Ultra?
Most streaming amplifiers ask you to compromise somewhere — power, sound quality or ease of use. The WiiM Amp Ultra refuses to. Its dual TI TPA3255 Class-D amplifier stage delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with distortion held to just 0.005% (THD+N, -106 dB), so it drives bookshelf, floor-standing, in-wall and even outdoor speakers with control and composure. Because the PFFB design keeps performance consistent regardless of speaker load, the sound stays accurate and balanced whether you connect one pair of 8-ohm bookshelf speakers or two pairs in parallel at 4 ohms. Add bit-perfect playback up to 192 kHz/24-bit, and the Amp Ultra is ready for the highest-resolution recordings your streaming services can offer.
Control is equally considered. The touchscreen shows album art, VU meters and playback controls at a glance, the WiiM Home app puts every setting on your phone, and the included WiiM Voice Remote 2 adds push-to-talk voice control and one-touch presets. RoomFit measures your room and speakers and corrects the sound automatically, so the system sounds its best in your room — not just on a test bench.
Key Features
100W per channel: 100W into 8 ohms and 200W into 4 ohms of Class-D power with PFFB technology for clean, load-independent sound.
Flagship ESS SABRE DAC: ESS ES9039Q2M DAC with dual TI TPA3255 amplifiers and six TI OPA1612 op-amps for detailed, dynamic high-resolution audio up to 192 kHz/24-bit.
3.5-inch glass touchscreen: A vibrant capacitive touchscreen for playback control, album art, VU meters, input switching, EQ and system settings — plus a multifunction rotary volume knob.
RoomFit room correction: Built-in acoustic measurement and correction tunes the sound to your room and speakers, with 24 preset EQs and 10-band graphic and parametric EQ.
HDMI ARC for TV sound: Connects to your TV over HDMI ARC with Stereo PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1 support, and lets your TV remote control the volume.
Complete streaming: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Deezer, Google Cast, DLNA and Roon Ready, over tri-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
Best Suited For
The WiiM Amp Ultra suits anyone who wants a single-box hi-fi system: a living-room setup with bookshelf or floor-standing speakers, a TV sound upgrade that also plays music properly, a bedroom or study system, and multi-room audio across the home. It supports passive speakers from 2 to 8 ohms — bookshelf, tower, in-wall or outdoor — and can drive up to four speakers as two pairs in parallel at 4 ohms. It is equally at home as the heart of a dedicated two-channel listening room or as the front end of a Dolby Digital home theatre setup.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect your passive speakers to the gold-plated binding posts using banana plugs (four are included) or bare wire. Connect your TV to the HDMI ARC input, a CD player or other digital source to the optical input, and an analogue source such as a CD player or a turntable with a built-in phono preamp to the RCA line input — a turntable without a built-in preamp needs an external phono stage. Add a powered subwoofer to the dedicated subwoofer output, plug in a USB drive for local music files, and connect to your network over Wi-Fi or the Ethernet port. Set up the WiiM Home app on your phone, sign in to your streaming services, and run RoomFit to measure and correct your room. The touchscreen, the app and the included voice remote all control playback, volume and inputs. Note that the Amp Ultra does not support AirPlay 2 and has no wired headphone output — for private listening, send audio to Bluetooth headphones instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the WiiM Amp Ultra different from the WiiM Amp and Amp Pro?
The Amp Ultra is the flagship of WiiM’s streaming amplifier range. It delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, against 60 watts from the standard WiiM Amp, adds the 3.5-inch glass touchscreen that neither the Amp nor the Amp Pro has, and uses the flagship ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE DAC with Post Filter Feedback technology and six TI OPA1612 op-amps. It also adds RoomFit room correction and a dedicated subwoofer output with crossover control.
Does the WiiM Amp Ultra support AirPlay 2?
No. The Amp Ultra does not support AirPlay 2. Apple Music listeners can still play music to it over Bluetooth 5.3, or use Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast, DLNA or Roon Ready, all of which are supported.
Can I use the WiiM Amp Ultra with my TV in a home theatre setup?
Yes. Connect your TV with a single HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC input and the Amp Ultra plays TV sound in Stereo PCM or Dolby Digital 5.1, with volume control from your TV remote. Its Home Theater Mode also lets it work as the front, centre or surround channel in a Dolby 5.1 setup. Note that DTS surround formats are not supported.
