Mixing in Dolby Atmos or any immersive format exposes a gap in most studios: a stereo interface cannot route, level-match, delay-align and calibrate nine, twelve or sixteen speakers. Why calibration is built in, not bolted on

An immersive mix only translates if every speaker arrives at the listening position at the same level, at the same time, with a comparable tonal balance. In a stereo setup you can fudge that by ear; across a 9.1.6 array you cannot. ORIA’s DSP handles per-speaker trim, delay and EQ, and its calibration workflow – including integration with Sonarworks SoundID Reference – measures the room and builds correction profiles you can store and recall. The result is a monitoring chain you can trust when a client asks whether the height channels will survive a soundbar downmix.

An interface as well as a controller

ORIA is not only a volume knob for many speakers. Its two console-style microphone preamps cover voice, instrument and measurement-microphone work, the USB-C connection keeps the host link simple, and the digital I/O – ADAT in, AES out, optional Dante – lets it sit inside larger rigs rather than forcing a rebuild around it. Downmix and profile switching let you check a mix on smaller layouts without repatching a single cable.
