Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 (Black/Graphite)

Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 (Black/Graphite)

The Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2 puts a camera, open-ear audio and Meta AI into the classic Wayfarer frame, here in black with graphite lenses. This second generation records video in up to 3K Ultra HD, stretches battery life to up to 8 hours on a charge, and keeps everything hands-free: capture, calls, music and questions to Meta AI all happen without reaching for a phone. Worn normally, they read as ordinary Wayfarers — the technology only shows when you use it.

Key features

• 12MP ultra-wide camera with 3024 x 4032 photos
• Video recording up to 3K Ultra HD (2203 x 2938) at 30 fps
• Meta AI voice assistant with live translation
• Two custom open-ear speakers and a five-microphone array
• Up to 8 hours of use per charge, 48 additional hours from the case
• 32GB internal storage for 500+ photos or 100+ short videos
• Classic Wayfarer frame in black with graphite lenses

Capture from your point of view

The ultra-wide 12MP camera sits at the front of the frame and records what you actually see, at eye level, hands-free — a tap on the temple or a voice command starts a photo or video while your hands stay on handlebars, a steering wheel of a parked car, a dog lead or a coffee. Video tops out at 3K Ultra HD at 30 fps, with 1080p at 30 or 60 fps and a 720p 120 fps slow-motion option below it, a clear step up from the first generation for creators who post what they shoot. The five-microphone array records spatial audio with your footage and keeps your voice forward on calls, even outdoors.

Meta AI and open-ear audio

Saying “Hey Meta” opens the assistant: ask what you are looking at, translate a sign or a conversation with live translation, set reminders, send voice messages or queue music, all by voice. The two custom open-ear speakers play music, podcasts and calls directly toward your ears while leaving them uncovered, so traffic, announcements and conversation stay audible — the right trade-off for eyewear worn all day in the real world, and adaptive volume keeps playback intelligible as surroundings change.

Battery, storage and fit

Battery life doubles over the first generation: up to 8 hours of typical use from the glasses, with the charging case adding up to 48 more hours and a 20-minute top-up restoring about 50%. Onboard 32GB flash storage holds over 500 photos or more than 100 thirty-second videos, syncing to the Meta AI app over Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 when you are back near your phone; Android 10 and iOS 14.4 or later are supported. The standard frame weighs about 51 g, close enough to regular Wayfarers that the electronics disappear in wear, and the black frame with graphite lenses keeps the all-dark, goes-with-everything look.

Choose the Gen 2 if you want the current Meta hardware — sharper video, longer battery, faster processing — inside eyewear you would wear even if it did nothing at all.
