Elgato Wave Shock Mount

The Elgato Wave Shock Mount is the official suspension mount for Elgato Wave microphones, designed to stop vibrations reaching the capsule before they become noise in your recording. A microphone bolted rigidly to a stand or boom arm hears everything the stand touches: the thump of a keyboard, a mouse set down hard, a knee against the desk leg, a door closing in the same room. Those sounds travel up the stand as structure-borne vibration and arrive at the capsule as low-frequency rumble that equalisers cannot fully remove afterwards.

The shock mount breaks that path. The microphone sits inside a solid steel chassis held by a reinforced elastic suspension, so the mic floats on the elastic web instead of being rigidly coupled to the stand. Vibration arriving through the arm is absorbed and attenuated by the suspension before it can reach the microphone body, and the steel frame protects the microphone against lateral knocks from the side.

Why recordings sound cleaner

Typing on the same desk is the everyday test — without isolation, every keystroke lands in the track. Underneath, a native 5/8 inch thread matches mainstream boom arms directly, and the included 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch adapters cover stands and arms built to the other common standards — the same adapter set Elgato uses across the Wave accessory line. The mount measures 135 x 115 x 32 mm and weighs 190 g, light enough not to trouble a boom arm’s balance.

Completing the Wave setup

A shock mount handles vibration; it pairs naturally with a pop filter, which handles plosive air blasts, and with a boom arm, which positions the microphone close to the mouth where less gain — and therefore less room noise — is needed. Together the three accessories are the standard Wave desk setup for streaming, podcasting and voice work.
