VSSL A.3X 3-Zone Multi-Zone Streaming Amplifier

VSSL A.3X – Three Zones of Streaming Audio From One Amplifier

The VSSL A.3X puts amplification and streaming for three independent zones into a single rack-friendly chassis. Each zone plays its own music at its own volume – streaming in the living room, radio in the kitchen, a playlist on the patio – and every zone is controlled from the VSSL app or by voice. There is no stack of receivers and no proprietary streaming ecosystem to buy into: the A.3X works with the services and phones already in the house.

It was designed for custom installers and serious multi-room homes, where reliability and repeatable setup matter as much as sound. Wire the speakers once, hide the amplifier away, and the system simply appears in the apps people already use.

Key features

• Three independent zones, each with its own source and volume
• 50 watts per channel of amplification for in-ceiling and in-wall speakers
• Native streaming with AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in
• Spotify Connect support, plus Bluetooth for guest devices
• Zones can play separately or group together for whole-home listening
• VSSL app control with per-zone EQ, volume limits and source selection
• Voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant devices
• Bus inputs let a shared source, such as a television, feed any zone
• Integrates with popular home automation and control systems

Native streaming, explained

Many multi-room amplifiers force you into their own app and their own limited list of services. VSSL takes the opposite approach: the A.3X appears as a native AirPlay 2 speaker to Apple devices and as a Chromecast target to Android and Google services, and Spotify Connect hands playback directly to the amplifier. Guests can play music without learning a new system, family members keep their own apps and accounts, and the amplifier keeps playing even if the phone that started it leaves the house.

Because streaming is handled per zone, three people can listen to three different services at once without negotiation – the defining convenience of a true multi-zone system.

Built for installed speakers

The A.3X is happiest driving the in-ceiling and in-wall speakers of a professionally installed home. Fifty watts per channel is well matched to those speakers and to background-to-foreground listening levels across several rooms, and per-zone volume limiting in the app protects both the speakers and the household peace. A bus input path lets one shared source – a TV, a media player or a turntable system – be heard in any zone on demand.

Setup and scaling

Installers value the A.3X because configuration is done from the app: name the zones, set limits, group rooms and hand over a finished system. If the house grows, additional VSSL amplifiers join the same app and the zones simply multiply, all speaking the same streaming languages.

For homes planning multi-room audio properly – wired speakers, invisible hardware, control from the phone in your pocket – the A.3X is a clean, capable foundation that stays out of the way once installed.
