Belkin HDMI Cable, 2 Metre — Black

Belkin HDMI Cable, 2 Metre – Black

This Belkin HDMI cable is a 2-metre, black, male-to-male lead for connecting an HDMI source to a display: a set-top box, streaming player, console or laptop at one end, and a television, monitor, projector or AV receiver at the other. One cable carries digital picture and sound together, which is the entire reason HDMI became the standard connection for home and office AV. The 2-metre length covers the most common equipment-to-screen distances, from a player on the shelf below the TV to a laptop presenting across a meeting-room table.

Key features

• HDMI male to HDMI male cable
• 2-metre length for standard AV routing
• Black finish
• Nickel-plated connector contacts, per listing
• One cable carries digital video and audio
• From Belkin, a long-established connectivity brand

Choosing on what is actually specified

Belkin sells a large family of HDMI cables at different grades, and listings for them do not always identify the exact retail model. This page therefore describes the cable at the level its listing establishes: length, colour, connector form and contact finish. It makes no claim about HDMI version, bandwidth, Ethernet channel or audio return capability, because none of those can be read off a cable’s appearance, and connector plating colour says nothing about the formats a cable supports. Where an installation depends on a demanding format, high refresh rates, HDR or return audio, confirm the exact model from the supplied cable’s packaging and match it against the source and display before treating the run as settled.

The 2-metre working length

Two metres is the size that fits most real rooms. It reaches from a media player in a TV unit up to a wall-mounted screen with enough slack for the plugs to sit without strain, crosses a desk from laptop to monitor with a tidy service loop, and connects a projector on a meeting table to a nearby wall plate. Excess length beyond the route is not a benefit: surplus cable coils behind equipment, strains its own connectors and makes later changes harder. Measure the actual route, including the drop from socket height to equipment height, and the 2-metre lead suits the large majority of domestic and small-office runs.

Connection notes

Connect the source output to the display input with both devices accessible, seat each plug fully, and select the corresponding input on the display or receiver. Begin with a picture mode the whole chain supports, then test the exact resolution and refresh rate you intend to use with real content before dressing the cable behind furniture. Support the cable so its weight does not pull sideways on a socket, avoid sharp folds, and keep the run clear of mains adapters where practical. If a receiver or soundbar sits in the route, confirm the audio output selection on the source as a separate step, because picture arriving correctly does not by itself prove the sound path is set as intended.

For the standard job of joining an HDMI source to a screen two metres away, this black Belkin lead is a straightforward, honestly specified cable from a brand that has made its name on exactly this category.
