Bandridge HDMI Cable 5 Metre

Bandridge HDMI Cable 5 Metre

The Bandridge HDMI Cable is a 5 metre HDMI lead for connecting a source such as a Blu-ray player, set-top box, games console, laptop or media streamer to a television, monitor or projector. Five metres is the length that suits real rooms rather than desks: a television mounted on one wall with equipment in a cabinet below or beside it, a projector at the back of a room fed from a source at the front, or a console positioned away from the screen for ventilation and access. Bandridge, part of the Nedis group, has sold AV connection cables for decades, and this is its straightforward long HDMI lead for home entertainment and presentation setups where a short cable simply will not reach.

Key features

• 5 metre length for across-the-room source to display runs
• HDMI connector at each end for digital audio and video in one cable
• Suited to televisions, projectors, monitors and AV receivers
• Single cable carries both picture and sound, reducing cable clutter
• Useful for wall-mounted screens and ceiling-mounted projectors
• Standard HDMI plug fits the HDMI sockets on consumer AV equipment

Planning a 5 metre HDMI run

Length changes how an HDMI cable should be chosen and installed. Measure the actual route, not the straight-line distance: down from a wall-mounted television, across to a cabinet, and up to a projector mount all add metres, and a little slack at each end prevents strain on the sockets. Avoid sharp bends, especially close to the connectors, and do not trap the cable under furniture legs or in door frames. If the cable will be hidden in trunking, a wall or a ceiling, test the complete setup first at the picture format you intend to use, with the actual source and display, before the route is closed. That single test, done in the open, prevents the common frustration of an installed cable that is then difficult to reach or replace.

What this cable is for

HDMI combines digital video and multi-channel audio in one connection, which is why it is the standard link between modern sources and displays. This 5 metre Bandridge lead serves the everyday versions of that job: a set-top box or streamer to a television across a living room, a laptop to a meeting-room screen, a console to a projector for games and films, or an AV receiver to a wall-mounted panel. The cable itself does not set the picture quality; the source, the display and the format they negotiate decide that. Its role is to provide a sound physical connection over a distance that short leads cannot cover, so the equipment can be placed where the room requires rather than where a one metre cable dictates.

A note on ratings and formats

HDMI cables are sold under many rating descriptions, and Bandridge does not publish a bandwidth figure for this plain HDMI cable in its product information. For that reason, no specific bandwidth, HDMI version or guaranteed resolution and refresh rate is claimed here for this listing. If your setup depends on a particular high-bandwidth format, check the packaging of the supplied cable and test the full route with your own source and display at that format before permanent installation. For standard home entertainment duties within the equipment’s own capabilities, choosing by length, connector fit and sound installation practice is the sensible approach, and it is how this cable should be assessed.

Installation good practice

Push each HDMI plug fully home without forcing it, support a long cable so its weight does not hang from a television socket, and route it away from mains adapters and power bricks where practical. Coil any excess length in a loose loop rather than a tight bundle tied with a sharp strap. If the picture drops out at a chosen format, work through the chain methodically: reseat both ends, try a different input on the display, and test the source with a short known cable to separate a cable question from an equipment setting. Label both ends of a hidden run; future you, tracing a connection behind a cabinet, will be grateful.

The Bandridge HDMI Cable at 5 metres is a practical long lead for home cinema, gaming and presentation rooms: standard HDMI connectors at both ends, enough reach for wall-mounted screens and projectors, and a simple, honest specification focused on length and connection rather than headline ratings. Planned and tested as part of the whole route, it does the unglamorous job every AV setup depends on.
