Handling up to four 3G-SDI input signals including camera feeds, playback sources, and graphics, the V-1SDI allows live operators to switch between sources, create picture-in-picture compositions, and manage transitions with professional quality and minimal setup time. The integrated multi-view output displays all inputs simultaneously on a single monitor, giving the operator complete situational awareness during live productions.
Four 3G-SDI Inputs for Professional Sources
The V-1SDI accepts four independent 3G-SDI video inputs, the professional broadcast standard used by virtually all professional cameras, routers, and broadcast equipment. 3G-SDI supports video at resolutions up to 1080p60, making the V-1SDI suitable for all current HD broadcast and live production formats. The SDI inputs auto-detect the format of the incoming signal, supporting 1080p, 1080i, and 720p sources simultaneously without requiring manual format configuration. Each SDI input also carries embedded audio, which the V-1SDI can extract and route independently, simplifying the signal chain by eliminating the need for separate audio de-embedders in many installations.
Integrated Multi-View and Preview Monitor
One of the V-1SDI’s most valuable features for live production operators is the integrated multi-view output, which displays all four inputs and the current program output simultaneously on a single monitor screen connected to the dedicated multi-view SDI output. This provides the operator with complete visibility of all camera feeds and the current on-air output without requiring a rack of separate monitors. Each source in the multi-view is labelled with customisable source names, and tally information is overlaid to indicate which source is currently on program output. The multi-view dramatically reduces the equipment footprint and cost of a live production setup.
Transitions, Compositions, and Picture-in-Picture
The V-1SDI provides a range of professional transition types including cuts, dissolves, wipes, and more, each selectable and adjustable via the front panel controls. The T-Bar fader provides manual control over transition speed for precise, audience-responsive switching during live events. Picture-in-picture compositing allows one source to be overlaid within a smaller window on another source, which is useful for comparing camera angles during live sports or for presentation applications where a presenter’s camera is shown alongside slide content. The DSK (Downstream Keyer) allows graphical overlays such as lower-thirds and bugs to be applied over the program output.
