BenQ TH575 Full HD Gaming Projector

BenQ TH575 Full HD Gaming Projector – 3800 Lumens, 16.7 ms Input Lag

The BenQ TH575 is a Full HD projector built for gaming and big-screen entertainment in rooms that are not blacked-out cinemas. Its lamp produces 3800 ANSI lumens, enough output to hold a watchable, punchy picture on a large screen in a living room with ordinary lighting control, while the DLP engine delivers native 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 30-bit colour, around 1.07 billion colours. A dedicated game mode and low input lag make it a genuine console and PC display, not a business projector borrowing gaming language.

Input lag is rated at 16.7 milliseconds at 1080p and 60 Hz, the equivalent of a single frame, so controller input and on-screen action stay tightly connected in shooters, racing games and sports titles. Picture modes cover the rest of the week: Cinema, Sports, Living Room and Bright modes, plus 3D support and two user memories, with Rec.709 coverage of 88 percent for film and broadcast content.

Placing it in a real room

The throw ratio of 1.49 to 1.64 means a 100-inch image needs roughly 3.3 metres of throw, a distance most living rooms and bedrooms can offer from a coffee table, shelf or ceiling mount. The 1.1x zoom gives placement tolerance around that distance, the 108 percent projection offset suits table and ceiling positions, and automatic vertical keystone squares the picture when the projector cannot sit perfectly level. Set the physical position and focus first and let keystone handle only the final correction, and the Full HD panel keeps its full sharpness. At 296 x 120 x 221 mm and 2.5 kg, the TH575 is also easy to move between rooms or store away between sessions.

Connections and sound

Two HDMI inputs, both HDMI 1.4a with HDCP 1.4, take a console and a streaming stick or Blu-ray player at the same time, and the projector accepts signals from VGA up to WUXGA, scaling them to its native panel. A 3.5 mm audio output feeds external speakers or a soundbar when you outgrow the built-in 10 W speaker, which is itself perfectly serviceable for casual viewing and gaming. RS232 control and a USB port with power output round out the connections for installed setups and streaming dongles.

Running costs and noise

Lamp life is rated at 6000 hours in normal mode, stretching to 10,000 hours in Eco or SmartEco and 15,000 hours in LampSave, so years of evening viewing pass before a replacement lamp is a consideration. Fan noise is 34 dB in typical use and 29 dB in Eco mode, quiet enough to sit near during dialogue-heavy films. For gamers and film fans who want a 100-inch picture in a normal room without the cost of a dedicated theatre build, the TH575 is BenQ’s straightforward answer.
