The AUDAC KYRA6 is a passive design column loudspeaker for installed speech and music in spaces where ordinary speakers struggle: reverberant halls, churches, auditoria, presentation rooms and meeting spaces. Six 2-inch aluminium-cone full-range drivers are stacked in a slim aluminium enclosure just 70 mm wide, and that vertical array is the engineering point of the product. It spreads sound widely across the room, a rated 174 degrees horizontally, while keeping vertical dispersion tight at 28 degrees, so less energy bounces off ceilings and floors and more of it reaches listeners as clear, intelligible speech.

AUDAC developed the KYRA series from phased-array acoustic research, aiming for detail and clarity in exactly these difficult environments. Reducing reflected sound also reduces echo and microphone feedback, which is why column speakers of this type are a standard choice for houses of worship and conference venues. The perforated steel grille and aluminium housing keep the visual impact minimal once mounted.

Flexible system wiring

Few installed speakers cover as many wiring schemes. Run the KYRA6 from a conventional amplifier in its 12-ohm low-impedance mode for short, simple runs, or select a transformer tap for distributed 70 V or 100 V lines: 20 W, 10 W and 5 W taps on 100 V systems, and 10 W, 5 W and 2.5 W on 70 V, chosen with the rear rotary selector. That makes it straightforward to mix the KYRA6 into larger public-address layouts where each speaker’s level is set by its tap. Connection is through a 3-pin Euro terminal block.

Mounting and finish

The enclosure measures 70 by 546 by 101 mm and weighs 3.35 kg, in aluminium with plastic side covers and a steel grille front. The supplied two-way revolving bracket holds the speaker close to the wall while allowing precise aiming at the seating area, which matters: a column speaker delivers its intelligibility advantage only when its narrow vertical beam is aimed at ear height across the audience.
