The Ahuja BTA-880 is a portable PA system in a trolley format, built by Ahuja Radios for presenters, teachers, event hosts and institutions that need speech and music amplification wherever they set up. Its bi-amplified design is rated at 50W maximum, split as 35W for the low-frequency section and 15W for the high-frequency section, driving a 12-inch speaker and an HF driver. Two wireless handheld microphones are included, alongside two wired microphone inputs, aux and music inputs, and a digital player with USB, SD and MMC playback, a recording function and Bluetooth. Power options cover almost any venue: AC mains, an external 12V car battery, or the built-in 12V, 7Ah rechargeable battery.
Key features
50W maximum bi-amplified output: 35W low frequency and 15W high frequency
12-inch speaker with a dedicated HF driver
Two wireless handheld microphones included
Two wired mic inputs plus aux and music inputs
Digital player with USB, SD and MMC playback, recording function and Bluetooth
Bass and treble tone controls for speech and music balance
Built-in 12V, 7Ah rechargeable battery, with AC and external 12V DC operation
Trolley format for moving between rooms and venues
Built for speech first
Frequency response for the bi-amplified system is 55Hz to 18,000Hz, which covers the full range of the human voice with room to spare for music. Bi-amplification gives the woofer and the HF driver their own amplifier sections, so announcements stay intelligible instead of turning harsh when the volume rises for a hall or outdoor gathering. Bass and treble controls, each adjustable by 5dB, let the operator cut low-end rumble in a reverberant classroom or add presence to a voice in an open space, and a preamp output is provided for feeding another amplifier or recorder.
Microphones and media playback
The two wireless handheld microphones use transmitters powered by two AA cells each, with 10mW maximum RF output, so two speakers, singers or presenters can work at once without passing a microphone around. Two wired mic inputs remain available for a lectern or a backup. The digital player handles MP3 playback from USB, SD and MMC media, records to the media as well, and Bluetooth covers streaming from a phone, so background music, recorded content and live speech all run through the same system.
Power options and portability
At about 18.8kg in a trolley cabinet measuring 405 x 610 x 350mm, the BTA-880 is built to be wheeled into position and left to work. The built-in rechargeable battery frees it from mains sockets for outdoor functions and processions, AC operation covers halls and classrooms, and an external 12V car battery input is a practical fallback for long field events. An AC fuse provides protection on mains power.
For schools, places of worship, community halls, tour guides and event hosts who need a dependable, self-contained PA with wireless microphones and its own battery, the BTA-880 is a proven, workmanlike answer from India’s best-known PA manufacturer.
