Ahuja XPA 1520DP Portable Speaker With 175 Watts PA Active Speaker

Ahuja XPA-1520DP Portable PA Active Speaker

The Ahuja XPA-1520DP is a bi-amp active PA loudspeaker that puts the amplifier, mixer inputs, media player and speaker in one cabinet, so a complete sound system for a gathering of around 100 people sets up in minutes. A built-in Class-D bi-amplifier rated at 175 W drives a 10-inch woofer and the high-frequency section separately, giving cleaner output than a single amplifier shared across the drivers. Two wired microphone inputs, provision for two wireless microphones, an Aux input and a Bluetooth MP3 player cover the sources a typical event actually uses.

One box instead of a rack

A conventional small PA means a separate amplifier, mixer, speaker, media player and a nest of cables, each a possible failure point at an event. The XPA-1520DP folds all of it into a single active cabinet: microphones plug straight in, music plays from the built-in player or a phone over Bluetooth, and the bi-amplifier is already matched to the drivers. For schools, places of worship, community halls and small venues that set up and pack away regularly, that simplicity is the main feature, and it is why Ahuja positions this model for small and medium gatherings of around 100 people.

Drivers and amplification

The low-frequency side is a 25.4 cm (10 inch) woofer with a 5.0 cm voice coil, sized for speech clarity and respectable music bass in a portable cabinet. High frequencies come from a dynamic horn with a 2.5 cm voice coil working with an HF tweeter, the horn helping spoken announcements carry to the back of a hall. Bi-amplification means the Class-D amplifier sections drive the woofer and the high-frequency drivers independently, keeping headroom cleaner when announcements run over music. LED indicators for ON, FAULT and CLIP let the operator see the system’s state at a glance and back off before clipping becomes audible.

Inputs, priority and effects

Two wired microphones and two wireless microphones can run together, with one Aux input for a laptop, keyboard or external player. Selectable priority for Mic-1 and the wireless microphones ducks the music when someone speaks, which is exactly what announcements at functions, conferences and religious gatherings need. Digital echo is built in for singers and speakers who want presence without an external effects unit, and active bass and treble controls shape the overall tone for the room. The TWS feature links compatible units for wider coverage, and Sing Along supports the karaoke-style use these systems so often get asked for.

Media playback

The built-in MP3 player includes Bluetooth for wireless music from a phone, a recorder function for capturing the programme, and a remote control so playback can be managed from a distance rather than from beside the speaker. Between the player, the Aux input and the microphone section, most events need nothing else plugged in at all.

Where it works

Ahuja lists the applications plainly: music and vocal performances, conferences and lectures, presentations, religious discourses and gatherings, stage monitoring, touring PA, mini-theatres, pubs and bars. Place the cabinet raised, with the horn facing the audience and clear of the microphones to avoid feedback, start levels low and raise them gradually. Choose the XPA-1520DP if you need a self-contained PA that one person can carry in, set up and run, with enough inputs and playback built in that no extra equipment is required.
