Edifier R12U Stereo Computer Bookshelf Speakers – White

Edifier R12U — USB-Powered Computer Speaker with AUX Input for Desktop and Laptop
The Edifier R12U is the simplest, most practical desktop speaker solution for students, home office workers, and casual listeners who want a massive improvement over laptop built-in speakers with zero setup complexity. USB-powered and AUX-connected, the R12U plugs into any computer, laptop, or USB power adapter and delivers immediate, clear stereo sound from a pair of compact cube-shaped speakers. There are no drivers to install, no Bluetooth to pair, no power adapter to carry separately — just plug the USB for power, connect the 3.5mm AUX to your device's headphone output, and music plays. At MRP Rs. 1,990, the R12U is one of the most affordable and practical small speaker solutions available in India. Sound Performance
The R12U is not an audiophile speaker — and it does not need to be. Its purpose is to deliver clear, pleasant stereo sound for personal desktop listening at a price accessible to virtually everyone. The 2W per channel output is sufficient for comfortable listening at desk distances of 50-80cm, which is the typical laptop-to-ear distance. The stereo separation between two physical speakers — even small ones placed 30-40cm apart on a desk — is vastly superior to the near-mono sound of laptop built-in speakers that point downward or backward. Voices in YouTube videos, Netflix dialogue, game audio, and casual music playback all benefit immediately from the R12U's stereo imaging and dedicated speaker enclosures. The AUX input connection avoids any USB audio processing variability — audio comes straight from the device's DAC through the headphone output, ensuring compatibility with any operating system and any device. The front-panel volume knob is genuinely convenient — a simple, physical control that eliminates the need to use keyboard volume keys or software mixers for level adjustment. Design & Build Quality
The R12U cube design is instantly recognisable as a purposeful product choice — a cube is the most volume-efficient enclosure shape, maximising internal volume within the smallest possible footprint. At 80x80x80mm, each speaker is genuinely compact, taking up less desk space than a standard coffee mug. The build quality is appropriate for the price tier: solid plastic construction with a clean aesthetic that comes in neutral black or clean white to complement any desk setup. The front-facing driver and volume knob layout is ergonomically sensible for near-field personal listening. The USB cable and AUX cable are both attached to the speaker unit, keeping the setup tidy. For Indian students living in hostels, PGs, or small apartments, the R12U is the single most practical audio upgrade available at its price point. Connectivity & Compatibility
The R12U is designed for maximum compatibility with minimum friction. The USB power connection works with any USB-A port — laptop USB ports, desktop USB ports, USB wall chargers (5V/1A or higher), USB power banks, and USB hubs. The 3.5mm AUX input connects to any device with a headphone output including Windows PCs, MacBooks, Chromebooks, Android smartphones via USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, iPhones via Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, iPads, and portable music players. No Bluetooth, no WiFi, no driver installation — the R12U is the most universally compatible desktop speaker possible. It works on AC power indirectly through the USB port, so Indian voltage compatibility (100-240V) is handled by the host device's charger, not the speaker itself. 1,990 Who Is It For? The Edifier R12U is the perfect speaker for students at school, college, or university who need better-than-laptop audio in a hostel or PG room; home office workers who want clear audio for video calls, music, and online content without spending much; budget-conscious buyers looking for their very first dedicated computer speaker upgrade; and anyone who wants a second pair of basic but reliable desktop speakers for a secondary workstation or bedroom PC. At Rs. 1,990, the R12U is the most affordable way to get proper stereo sound at your desk anywhere in India. Every unit is genuine, covered under official Edifier warranty, and available for fast pan-India delivery. At Rs. 1,990, the R12U is the audio upgrade with the shortest payback period possible — you will notice the difference the moment you plug it in. Order your colour preference today and enjoy real stereo sound from your laptop or desktop immediately.
