The MX 3992 EP Cord is a 1.5-metre auxiliary cable with a 3.5 mm EP stereo male plug at each end, the standard AUX lead for connecting a phone, MP3 player, tablet, laptop or portable speaker to a car stereo, home stereo, speaker or amplifier. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and keep the connection clean, and the aramid-insulated construction is made to survive daily coiling and pocket carrying.
At 1.5 metres the MX 3992 EP Cord is long enough to reach from a phone in a pocket or a cup holder to the car stereo, or from a laptop on a desk to a speaker beside it, without a tangle of spare cable. It is the everyday AUX cable, and its quality shows in the two places cheap AUX leads fail first: the plugs and the cable joint.
Why Choose MX 3992 EP Cord 1.5 Metre?
The MX 3992 EP Cord exists because wireless is not always the answer. Bluetooth pairing fails, batteries run flat, and some older car stereos and home systems have no wireless input at all, only a 3.5 mm AUX socket. A wired AUX connection just works: plug it in and the music plays, with no latency and no pairing step.
A well-made AUX cord also sounds better than a worn one. Corroded plugs and cracked joints cause one-channel dropouts and crackle that get blamed on the speaker. Gold-plated plugs and aramid insulation keep this cord reliable through daily use, which is exactly what an everyday lead needs to be.
Key Features
3.5 mm stereo male to male: standard AUX plugs that fit phones, tablets, laptops, car stereos and speakers.
Gold-plated connectors: corrosion-resistant plugs for a clean, stable connection.
Aramid insulation: tough insulation that resists wear from daily coiling and carrying.
1.5-metre length: reaches from pocket or desk to stereo without excess cable.
Universal AUX use: works with headphones, car stereos, phones, MP3 players, home stereos and portable speakers.
Best Suited For
The MX 3992 EP Cord suits drivers connecting a phone to a car AUX input, desk users wiring a laptop to speakers, and anyone with an older stereo, speaker or amplifier that has a 3.5 mm AUX socket but no Bluetooth.
Check that both devices have a 3.5 mm stereo socket. Phones without a headphone socket need a USB-C or Lightning to 3.5 mm adaptor, which is a separate item.
Setup and Connection Guide
Plug one end of the MX 3992 EP Cord into the headphone or AUX output of the source device and the other into the AUX input of the stereo or speaker, then set the stereo to its AUX source and adjust volume on both devices, starting low.
If sound comes from one channel only, reseat both plugs and check that each plug is pushed fully home. Coil the cord loosely for storage and avoid sharp bends at the plug joints.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this cable work with my car stereo?
Yes, if the car stereo has a 3.5 mm AUX input socket. Set the stereo source to AUX, plug in the phone, and play music from the phone.
Does a wired AUX cable sound better than Bluetooth?
A wired connection avoids Bluetooth compression and pairing dropouts, and it has no latency, which matters for video. For most listeners the difference is reliability rather than dramatic sound quality.
Is 1.5 metres long enough?
For a phone to a car stereo, a laptop to a desk speaker, or a tablet to a nearby speaker, yes. If the devices are further apart, choose the 5-metre MX 3992B version instead.
