KEF LSX II Wireless Bookshelf Speakers (White)

KEF LSX II White – True Hi-Fi, Without the Rack of Separates

The KEF LSX II in white is a complete wireless speaker system: two compact bookshelf cabinets that contain the amplification, streaming and digital processing a traditional hi-fi spreads across several boxes. Stream from a phone, connect a television or turn it into a high-quality computer system, and the LSX II delivers the focused, room-filling sound KEF builds its reputation on, with no speaker cable runs and no separate amplifier to house.

At its heart sits KEF’s Uni-Q driver array, which places the tweeter in the acoustic centre of the midrange and bass driver. That single decision shapes how the LSX II fills a room, and why a pair in white can disappear visually while the music in front of them does the opposite.

Why Uni-Q sounds different

In a conventional two-way speaker, the tweeter and woofer sit apart, so their outputs only line up perfectly in one narrow listening position. Uni-Q puts the tweeter where the woofer’s centre would be, so high and midrange frequencies leave the cabinet from the same point. Vocals stay locked in the centre, imaging stays stable as you move around the room, and a desk, a sofa and a dining table all become reasonable places to listen from. For small and medium rooms, that consistency is worth more than raw volume.

One system for music, TV and desk

Most homes ask one set of speakers to do three jobs, and the LSX II is wired and wireless for all of them. HDMI ARC makes it a serious television upgrade, with dialogue clarity a soundbar rarely matches. Streaming covers phone and network listening, USB-C suits a laptop-based desk set-up, and the analogue input takes a turntable through a phono stage. Switching stays simple, which is why systems like this actually get used daily instead of only on hi-fi evenings.

Living with the LSX II

Place the pair on stands or a solid shelf, roughly ear height, with a clear path to the listening area, and run the app set-up so the EQ matches whether they sit near a wall or in free space. White suits lighter interiors and smaller rooms particularly well, keeping the system visually quiet. If your room or taste later demands deeper bass, add a compact subwoofer rather than replacing the speakers.

For listeners who want audiophile sound without separates, cables and clutter, the LSX II in white is the considered, complete answer.
