Carvaan Premium Antique Oak R20057

Saregama Carvaan Premium Antique Oak R20057

The Saregama Carvaan Premium is a portable music player preloaded with 5000 evergreen Hindi songs, presented here in the Antique Oak finish, model R20057. It is designed for listeners who want classic Hindi film music without a smartphone, an app account or an internet connection: switch it on, turn the jog dial and the music plays. The Premium variant expands the standard Carvaan with more than 130 stations, app support, favourites, and AM radio and Aux In alongside Bluetooth, FM and USB playback.

The preloaded library and its stations

The 5000 songs are organised into more than 130 stations so that browsing feels like tuning a radio rather than searching a database. The Artistes category carries around 50 stations dedicated to legends such as Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Jagjit Singh, alongside actor stations. Moods groups songs by feeling and occasion, Specials collects themed programming, and Geetmala holds the complete Ameen Sayani Geetmala collection. The jog dial moves between stations, the display shows the station and song name, and any song can be marked as a favourite with the press of a button, building a personal Favourites station over time. No downloads, subscriptions or pairing are involved in any of this; the library lives inside the player.

App control, radio and your own music

The Premium variant adds the Saregama Carvaan app, available for Android and iOS, which connects to the player so listeners can browse and search the full song list, create playlists and control playback from a phone while the sound comes from the Carvaan. Beyond the preloaded library, the player works as a home radio with both FM and AM bands, using the supplied external antenna for reception, and as a Bluetooth speaker for streaming from a phone or tablet. A USB mode plays songs from a pen drive (up to 64 GB, USB 2.0), and Aux In accepts a wired source through the back panel.

Battery, size and daily listening

The rechargeable lithium-ion battery is rated at 2200 mAh and gives 5 to 6 hours of playtime from a full charge, with charging taking about 2 to 3 hours through the 5V 1A adaptor. The player can also be used while charging, and a battery indicator on the display shows the remaining charge. The cabinet measures approximately 28.9 cm long, 22.9 cm high and 8.4 cm wide and weighs about 1.24 kg, so it sits naturally on a bedside table, kitchen counter or desk and can be carried from room to room. The included remote handles mode selection, favourites, category changes, track navigation and volume from across the room.

The Antique Oak finish gives the R20057 the warm, furniture-like look that suits the music it carries. For parents, grandparents and anyone who grew up with these songs, the Carvaan Premium removes every barrier between the listener and the music: no passwords, no updates, no streaming accounts, just a dial, a speaker and 5000 songs ready at switch-on.
