Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker

Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker

The Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker is a discreet in-ceiling loudspeaker for surround sound and multiroom music, and the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker is designed to be heard rather than seen. It fits into the ceiling with only a paintable white magnetic grille on show, while its coaxial driver arrangement aims sound at the listening area for a convincing sense of height in home cinema and an even spread of music in living spaces. For immersive formats that need overhead channels, the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker adds the vertical dimension without changing the look of the room.

Why Choose Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker?

Ceiling speakers live or die on two things, and the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker handles both: the tweeter can be angled by 35 to 40 degrees in any direction, so sound is aimed at the seats instead of straight down at the floor, and the 165 mm cellulose-fibre mid-bass driver gives the speaker enough body for film effects and music alike. With a sensitivity of 87 dB and a maximum power handling of 100 watts, the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker works with most hi-fi and home cinema amplifiers, and its magnetic grille can be painted to match the ceiling exactly. It belongs to Elipson’s Architect IN range, built for discreet integration in homes, restaurants, hotels, offices and schools.

Key Features

• 2-way coaxial design: A 165 mm paper-cone mid-bass driver and a 19 mm silk dome tweeter in the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker, for coherent sound from one point.
• Aimable tweeter: The silk dome tweeter angles 35 to 40 degrees in all directions, so the Elipson IC-6 Ceiling Speaker can be aimed at the listening position.
• Paintable magnetic grille: The supplied white magnetic grille can be painted, so the speaker disappears into the ceiling finish.
• Wide frequency response: 70 Hz to 20 kHz covers film effects, dialogue ambience and background music from a single ceiling point.
• Immersive-format ready: The speaker suits Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height channels as well as stereo and multiroom zones.
• Simple installation: A 200 mm cut-out, dog-ear style fixings and a supplied cut-out template make the speaker a straightforward retrofit.

Best Suited For

The speaker suits home cinema rooms adding height or surround channels, living rooms and kitchens with multiroom audio, and commercial spaces such as restaurants, shops, hotels, conference rooms and schools that need background music without visible speakers. It is sold individually, so buyers should order one speaker per ceiling position and plan pairs for stereo zones or matched sets for surround layouts. It needs an amplifier channel per speaker, since it is a passive design with no built-in amplification.

Setup and Connection Guide

Mark the 200 mm cut-out with the supplied template, checking first for joists, pipes and cables above the ceiling, and allow at least 102 mm of installation depth. Run speaker cable from the amplifier to each position, connect the speaker observing polarity, and secure it with its mounting fixings so the bezel sits flush. Fit the white magnetic grille, aiming the tweeter toward the main listening area before the grille goes on, and paint the grille first if a colour match is wanted. Set the amplifier level conservatively for the first test, then balance the ceiling channels against the main speakers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the speaker sold singly or in pairs?

The speaker is sold individually, with one speaker, one white grille, one cut-out template and one manual in the box. Order one per ceiling position.

Can the grille of the speaker be painted?

Yes. The speaker comes with a white magnetic grille that is ready to paint, so it can be matched to the ceiling colour for a fully discreet installation.

What amplifier power does the speaker need?

The speaker is rated for a recommended amplifier power of 100 watts, with a sensitivity of 87 dB, so most home cinema receivers and multiroom amplifiers will drive it comfortably.
