Lumi FLC-6EKT Frameless Ceiling Speaker

Lumi FLC-6EKT Frameless Ceiling Speaker

The Lumi FLC-6EKT is a frameless in-ceiling speaker for homes and commercial interiors where the sound should be present and the loudspeaker should not. Instead of a visible bezel sitting proud of the ceiling, the FLC-6EKT uses a frameless magnetic grille that sits flush with the surface. The grille can be painted to match the ceiling colour, after which the speaker effectively disappears into the room while it works.

Behind the grille is a two-way design pairing a woofer with a tweeter, so the speaker covers the full range needed for background music, television and film audio rather than the limited band of a basic paging speaker. It is sold as a single unit, letting you plan pairs for stereo rooms or distribute several units across a larger space.

Key features

• Frameless in-ceiling design that sits flush with the ceiling surface
• Magnetic grille for quick fitting and removal
• Grille can be painted to match the surrounding ceiling
• Two-way driver arrangement with woofer and tweeter
• Dog-leg clamp fixings for straightforward ceiling installation
• Moisture-resistant build for humid rooms and covered areas

Sound without visual clutter

Ceiling speakers earn their place when a room cannot, or should not, carry visible boxes: a living room designed around clean lines, a bedroom, a restaurant or a retail floor where the interior design is part of the product. The two-way arrangement matters here. The woofer handles voices and the body of music while the tweeter keeps dialogue detail and high-frequency clarity, so speech from a television soundtrack stays intelligible and music does not turn dull at background levels.

Installation

The speaker mounts into a ceiling cutout and is held by dog-leg clamps that draw it up against the surface as they are tightened, a method that works in plasterboard and suspended ceilings without access from above in most cases. The magnetic grille then snaps into place and comes away just as easily for cleaning or repainting. Speaker cable runs back to the amplifier in the usual way, and the moisture-resistant construction extends the suitable rooms to bathrooms and covered outdoor areas as listed for this model.

Planning a system

One unit covers a small room or a single listening zone; pairs give proper stereo in living rooms and bedrooms, and home theatre layouts can add ceiling units for height and surround duties alongside floor or wall speakers. In larger or open-plan spaces, more units run at lower individual volume give more even coverage than fewer units working hard. Match the amplifier to the number of speakers and the way they will be wired, and set levels room by room.

Who it suits

Homeowners, architects, interior designers and installers who want music and film sound integrated into a room without visible equipment will find the frameless format of the FLC-6EKT the point of the product.

Flush mounting, a paintable magnetic grille and two-way sound make the Lumi FLC-6EKT the discreet route to ceiling audio at home or at work.
