The ELAC Debut 2.0 C5.2 is the centre channel of ELAC’s Debut 2.0 series, designed by Andrew Jones’s team as the matching partner to the B5.2, B6.2 and F5.2 speakers. Two 5.25-inch woven aramid-fibre woofers flank a 1-inch cloth dome tweeter, giving the centre the same driver recipe, voicing and 55 Hz to 35 kHz frequency response family as the front speakers it works with, so dialogue stays anchored and consistent as action pans across the screen.
Debut 2.0 moved the bass ports to the front of the cabinet, and on a centre speaker that change is decisive: the C5.2 can sit inside a TV cabinet or against a wall without the ports being obstructed. The twin dual-flared ports reduce air noise at high levels. The thick CARB2-rated MDF cabinet is internally braced to cut vibration and colouration, and the woofers use oversized magnets with vented pole pieces for control at higher output.

Aramid Fibre and the Wide-Dispersion Tweeter
Aramid fibre is stiff and light for its weight, so the woofer cones resist flexing and break-up at higher volumes, keeping midrange detail clean where voices sit. The cloth dome tweeter uses a wide-roll surround and a waveguide that controls directivity, spreading high frequencies more evenly across the seating area instead of beaming them at one central chair, and removing the diffraction effects a plain box baffle creates. Together they are why the Debut 2.0 centre keeps dialogue intelligible from seats off to the sides.
System Matching
The C5.2 is voiced for the Debut 2.0 family: pair it with B5.2 or B6.2 bookshelf speakers or F5.2/F6.2 floorstanders at the front and B5.2/B6.2 as surrounds for a coherent 5.1 system, adding a subwoofer for the lowest octave. At 540 mm wide it suits screens from about 55 inches upward, and the front-port design means a cabinet shelf is a perfectly good home for it.
