Edifier R2750DB MKII 3-Way Powered Bookshelf Speakers, 144W RMS, Black

Edifier R2750DB MKII 3-Way Powered Bookshelf Speakers (Black)

The Edifier R2750DB MKII is a powered 2.0 bookshelf speaker system built around a true three-way design, with a separate woofer, midrange driver and tweeter in each cabinet and 144 W RMS of total output. Because the amplifiers are built in, no separate AV receiver or stereo amplifier is needed: a television, turntable, computer or phone connects directly, and the system handles everything from film dialogue to full-range music. This listing is for the Black finish.

Key features

• Three-way drivers per speaker: 7-inch long-throw woofer, 4.5-inch midrange driver and 1-inch silk-dome tweeter
• 144 W RMS total output from four Class-D amplifiers with a three-way active crossover
• End-to-end DSP at 24-bit/96 kHz with Dynamic Range Control
• HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial and line-in inputs, plus a subwoofer output
• Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC and multipoint connection for two devices
• Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified, with app control and a remote

Three-way sound, properly amplified

Each speaker divides the work three ways. The 7-inch long-throw woofer handles bass, the 4.5-inch midrange driver covers the vocal and instrument range where detail matters most, and the 1-inch silk-dome tweeter reproduces treble up to the system’s 45 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response. Four Class-D amplifiers drive the drivers individually, rated at 40 W for the woofer, 20 W for the midrange and 12 W for the tweeter per channel, and a three-way active crossover keeps each driver working in the range it handles best. Dynamic Range Control protects that balance at high volume, so the sound stays composed rather than strained when a film soundtrack or a loud chorus pushes the system.

Television and wired sources

An HDMI eARC input makes the R2750DB MKII a straightforward television upgrade: one cable carries the sound, and HDMI CEC lets a compatible TV remote control power, volume and mute. Optical and coaxial inputs suit CD players, streamers and games consoles, while the line-in accepts a turntable with a built-in or external phono stage, a computer or any analogue source. A dedicated subwoofer output is provided for listeners who later want to add a powered subwoofer for deeper bass extension, turning the pair into the front end of a 2.1 system without changing the speakers themselves.

Wireless streaming and control

Bluetooth 6.0 supports the LDAC codec at up to 990 kbps from compatible Android devices, giving wireless playback that matches the system’s Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, and multipoint connection keeps two devices paired so switching between a phone and a laptop takes seconds. Everyday control is covered three ways: the included remote, the knobs and source display on the active speaker, and the EDIFIER ConneX app. The app offers four preset sound effects and a customisable equaliser for shaping the sound to the room and the recording, and rear-panel bass and treble knobs allow quick adjustment without the app.

Size and placement

These are large bookshelf speakers, each measuring 223.4 x 395.4 x 279.8 mm, and the pair weighs 16.57 kg, so they need a sturdy stand or a deep shelf rather than a narrow desktop. The R2750DB MKII then works as a single system for television, records and streaming alike, with no rack of separate electronics to house, wire or switch on.
