The Electro-Voice ZLX-15BT is built for buyers who want proven professional performance without compromise, and this listing covers what it does, who it suits, and how to set it up. Whether it is going into a venue, a studio, a place of worship or a creator desk, the Electro-Voice ZLX-15BT earns its place by doing its core job exceptionally well, with the build quality and control expected from its brand.
Why Choose the Electro-Voice ZLX-15BT?
The ZLX-15BT is the original-generation workhorse for DJs and bands who want full-range sound from a single box: its 15-inch woofer gives dance music and live bass real depth, while 1000 watts and 127 dB keep large rooms covered without a subwoofer. Bluetooth streaming handles backing tracks and background music from a phone, and the QuickSmart DSP stores presets for different rooms and setups, so the sound is repeatable gig after gig. It is the proven original, chosen where reliability and deep bass matter more than the newest generation's app features. The Electro-Voice ZLX-15BT is a practical, long-term choice: it is designed to be used daily, to integrate with the rest of a system, and to keep performing long after cheaper alternatives have been replaced.
Key Features
Deep 15-inch bass: the large woofer reaches down to 55 Hz at -3 dB, so DJ sets, kick drums and bass instruments sound full without a subwoofer.
1000 watts, 127 dB: plenty of clean headroom for large rooms, outdoor events and loud dance floors.
Bluetooth built in: stream music wirelessly from a phone or laptop for background sets, breaks and rehearsals.
Repeatable sound: QuickSmart DSP stores four presets, a sub/top match and five user memories, so a good sound is one knob-turn away.
Even room coverage: the SST waveguide spreads sound 90 x 60 degrees for a consistent mix across the audience.
Best Suited For
The ZLX-15BT suits DJs, bands, houses of worship, schools, fitness events and hire companies that want the proven original 15-inch powered loudspeaker with Bluetooth and deep bass.
Setup and Connection Guide
Pole-mount or floor-stand the ZLX-15BT, connect microphones or a mixer to the two XLR/TRS combo inputs, or pair a phone by Bluetooth for music playback. Select a QuickSmart preset, match a subwoofer if one is used, and store the result as a user preset for the next gig. Link a second speaker from the XLR output for stereo coverage, and keep the rear panel ventilation clear. Take a few minutes to test the Electro-Voice ZLX-15BT at working volume before the event or session, so levels, placement and presets are settled well in advance.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the ZLX-15BT different from the ZLX-15P-G2?
The ZLX-15BT is the original generation with QuickSmart DSP controlled by a single-knob LCD, while the ZLX-15P-G2 is the newer second generation with app control and a Dynacord-powered digital mixer.
Does the ZLX-15BT need a subwoofer?
Usually not. Its 15-inch woofer already reaches 55 Hz at -3 dB, so most DJ and band use is full-range, though a matched subwoofer can be added through the system-match setting for very large rooms.
Does the ZLX-15BT have Bluetooth?
Yes, it streams Bluetooth audio from a phone, laptop or other Bluetooth source for music playback.
