Dali Katch G2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Chilly Blue)

Dali Katch G2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Chilly Blue) – Danish Hi-Fi Sound in a Slim Carry-Anywhere Cabinet

The Dali Katch G2 in Chilly Blue is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed by a loudspeaker company, and it shows in the way it is voiced. Where most portables chase maximum loudness, the Katch G2 aims for clarity, balance and a believable stereo image, in a cabinet slim enough to slide into a laptop bag or a weekend tote. It is made for listeners who want one speaker that sounds at home in the kitchen, on a desk and out on a balcony.

Drivers are mounted on both faces of the enclosure, so sound spreads into the room rather than firing in a single direction. Combined with a rechargeable battery rated for up to 30 hours of playback, the Katch G2 works as an everyday home speaker that happens to travel well, rather than a travel speaker that merely copes at home.

Performance

The two-way layout, crossed over at 2.3 kHz, keeps vocals forward and intelligible while the aluminium woofers handle the midrange and upper bass with control. Passive radiators on both sides add low-frequency weight without the distortion that small reflex ports often introduce at higher volumes, and the rated 95 dB maximum output is more than enough for a room or a small outdoor gathering.

Switching between the Clear and Warm modes changes the voicing in a useful way. Clear keeps the presentation open and detailed for close listening, while Warm adds body that helps the speaker sound fuller outdoors or when it is placed away from walls.

Design and build

The extruded aluminium and polymer cabinet measures just 47 mm deep, and at 1.1 kg it is genuinely easy to carry. The Chilly Blue finish gives the speaker a cool, contemporary character, set off by the leather strap that sits flush when it is not being used. Top-mounted controls cover power, volume, Bluetooth and sound mode, with a battery indicator built into the power button surround.

Battery and portability

A full charge takes around two hours and returns up to 30 hours of listening, depending on volume. The USB output can top up a phone from the internal battery, which is handy on longer days out. A travel bag and mains charger with adaptor plugs are included, underlining that this is a speaker designed to be taken along, not left behind.

Choose the Katch G2 in Chilly Blue if you want a portable speaker with real hi-fi tuning, long battery life and a finish with some personality, for listening at home and away.
